I can see his point, but at the same time, you can’t tell me that Jordan nor Pippen wouldn’t be able adjust their games accordingly.

I see no physical weakness that would make them unable to guard today’s players.

If Kobe and Paul George, who are extremely similar in body type to MJ/Pip respectively (less athletic in many cases), can make All-D teams, they can do the same today.

:pachaha: I remember watching this game live.Grant hill was destroying pip all game and phil switched mike on him towards the end of the game and he was givin jordan the biz too, pippen had a good game too from what I remember.I called my boy up like :damn: grant hill was killing mike and scottie

Grant hill crossed up #45 jordan too

Some b-ball reference box score hunting revisionist tried to tell me grant hill didn’t have his way vs Jordan and pippen based off points he scored. He routinely got wherever he wanted and was dropping triple doubles or damn near triple doubles. Not to mention his postgame

Threads like these exposes who really watched these cats play

I been saying this for years, to be fair the 96-98 jordan and pippen were the defensively declining versions in their mid 30's(still good but not as good as late 80's- early 90's mike and early to mid 90's pip) but they both struggled to guard grant or penny

that's why whenever people say "pippen always guarded the other teams best player" NO HE DID NOT pf's and C's were primarily the best players on their teams back then, pippen was guarding weak ass wings and the handful of skilled ones use to do whatever they wanted.

I rarely agree with gilbert he a corny ass nikka but his point is valid on this. Pippen was a great team defender(passing lanes, weakside help, trapping, full court press) his individual defense done got so blown out of proportion it's crazy

This fool really saying LeBron is 6'10?????? :mjlol::mjlol:

And he's talking bout Grant Hill "giving them problems" but conveniently forgets how KD got locked up by 5'11 CP3 and 6'4 Tony Allen. Or LeKing getting banished to the Phantom Zone by Jason Terry and 5'8 JJ Barea in his prime.

But Pippen and Rodman "COULDN'T STOP THEM" huh?? :RussLaffin:

Old heads and new heads gotta collectively agree to stop downplaying eras they weren't apart of, shyt makes everyone involved look like a damn fool :smh:

He's not lying. Jordan and Pippen rarely faced great SG/SF. Imagine what Bron/Durant/Kwahi/Prime Wade & Kobe would do to them.

Don't forget Penny

Fuhkouttahere.. these nyggas today are 3Ball shooters and scared of contact.. why would Pippen fear these nyggas today?

Grant was a beast but much younger than Pippen.. Pippen was much older at this point

:what:That’s what Gilbert is applying when he was taking to Lou Williams, thus posting this video after to suggest Scottie couldn’t defend today’s SFs. :comeon:
He didnt say Pip wouldnt be a good defender as you posed. But We know he’d be a lot less effective.

The three position lost a lot when Bernard King knee busted up and Len Bias died

Nikka, he’s sayin Scottie wouldn’t be able to guard today’s SFs due to the evolution in skills between them and now, thus using Grant hill as a example of how Scottie has problems guarding next level SFs, which is suggesting Scottie wouldn’t be a good Defender as he wouldn’t be able to guard the elites SFs of today’s era:comeon:stop playing obtuse, you know exactly what he’s saying and he’s full of shyt.

That small sample size of grant hill, who could of been a possible top 20 player without the injuries, having good games aganist Scottie is like saying Lebron ain’t shyt cause Jason Terry averaged more points than him the 2011 finals

Also you yourself @NYC Rebel

Look at when Pip faced second tier stars at SF.

:mjpls:

Suggesting that Pip struggled to guard “second tier” SFs is suggesting he wouldn’t be able to really guard First tier SFs of this era. Again that’s why he mentioned Grant hill

Both you and Gilbert know what y’all doing with this passive aggressive shyt
