If you watch a lot of old games you would see that what Gil is saying is facts

Everyone from Magic Johnson, Mark Jackson, BJ Armstrong, Kevin Johnson, Derek Harper, Muggsy Bogues was bringing up the ball like that

A lot of what Gilbert says is facts.

Just like when them old motherfukkers wanna talk about James Harden and Chris Paul and ball movement, when these motherfukkers played the slowest fukking basketball in NBA history.

-------------------------------------

Tim Hardaway, Mark Price, Allen Iverson saved ball handling.

Most guards in the old days, would legit just dribble to a spot and pass it off and then get it back and dribble to another spot, and pass it off. If wasn't a fastbreak they weren't doing shyt.

:mjlol:

But a lot of that had to do with rules and palming.

He's not lying. Jordan and Pippen rarely faced great SG/SF. Imagine what Bron/Durant/Kwahi/Prime Wade & Kobe would do to them.

Don't forget Penny

WHAT GREAT SG/SF DID BRON AND WADE
FACE IN THE 2011/2013/2014 FINALS?

rule changes change everything

mj said out his own mouth his career would be different playing under the post 01 rules

comparing cats from different eras doesn't work for real

*

MJ DID PLAY UNDER POST 01 RULES
AND THAT OLD WASHED VERSION STILL AVERAGED 20 AT 39 YRS OLD.

22, 7 & 3 ON 46% FG IN 30 GAMES
AS A 40 YR OLD.

The game evolves. Players get stronger, faster and more skilled. Training, medicine and nutrition are better. Maybe you can’t see it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true.

Only :flabbynsick: nikkas try to deny it and pretend their era had better players.

It’s like that in every sport. shyt imagine Mike Haynes trying to cover DeAndre Hopkins, that shyt would be a massacre. Throw Carl Lewis in a time machine and he’s not even qualifying for the US team these days. Basketball is no different. Nobody in the 80s/90s is stopping Durant, Bron, Giannis etc that shyt is common sense.

It’s hilarious seeing dudes dismiss the impact of those flagrant fouls in the 80/90s when they didn’t have to deal with it.

The real interesting part is that you don’t see it in other sports.

Messi and Ronaldo wouldn’t dismiss the physical tackles that Maradona had to deal with.

No one would argue that QBs and WRs don’t have it way easier today with the reduced contact.

So what is it about basketball culture?:jbhmm:

And there were a bunch of ninjas in the 80/90s just like him :what:
Nikka the closest thing to Tony Allen defensively is probably Michael Cooper and he weighed a buck 70 :russ:

Don’t make me name all them 6’3 SG’s from back then :umad:
