Agreed. I had Jokic 3rd last year. This year I'd give it to Jokic. I'm more annoyed by all the counter outrage going on. As I've said on here before NOBODY in the media had a word to say about Giannis being written off for a 3rd MVP due to his lack of playoff success the previous two years. No matter what numbers he put up from early in the season it was basically agreed upon that he couldn't win MVP. Now that people are saying Jokic shouldn't win for the same reason now everybody is all up in arms. It's weird how it just happens to be white players that the rules get rewritten for. Only thing worse is that Jill-Scott broad that will defend anything Jokic related. The season before was was a debatable race. Had Jokic did all he did this year, without already being crowned two MVPs, do you think he’d be getting as much pushback? The pushback comes from his previous two moreso than this one. This is his most clear and away deserving MVP just based on the metrics and having his team number one in the west. LeBron is a polarizing figure on this board. Whether he doesn’t get the same pushback that Jokic gets specifically for his race, doesn’t mean there haven’t been worthy black MVP winners who haven’t had their winning be delegitimized or questioned. Again, I think the defense of Jokic has much to do with ppl just being fed up with militants, more than anything and just wanting to appear super objective compared to the typical race arguments. Damn near every player who has won MVP(black or white) has had their award delegitimized because of an underwhelming post season run. And these are guys who only have one MVP to their name. Again, nobody is really jumping to Westbrooks defense. The consensus(on this board and outside of it) seems to be that he statpadded his way to an undeserved MVP. How much more hate is Jokic getting over past winners relative to the acclaim he gets from media and voters?
