Voters aren't "subordinate" to the Democratic Party, nor is the voting public to blame for everything.
I completely agree. You should tell this to the people desperately trying to direct criticism away from the Democratic Party - the organization that is specifically tasked with winning the election and stopping MAGA, yet failed horribly in their charged duty - and towards the general public who are at risk of being harmed.

The point is that when someone like Vance says something ridiculous, the conversation should be chiefly about *him.*

It's not "detesting democracy" to recognize that voters still have agency in their decisions, either. People made the conscious choice to vote for Trump and Vance, and instead of scrutinizing *his* comments, we're trying to shift the discussion to how it's somehow the Democrats fault. That's unnecessary deflection.
See, this is where we disagree. The Democrats are the opposition party, they're supposed to be explicitly charged with countering the Republicans. That's their job. To convince the public to vote for them. Trump and Vance and MAGA are arsonists. They're unrepentant constitutionally immoral criminals. We're not going to scold or shame them out of power. They can't be reasoned with because they don't believe in making things better. The only hope (right now) for stopping MAGA is the Democratic Party. So turning your attention to them and kicking them in the ass so they stop fukking up and start fighting back is a much more effective use of time and effort. I'm fine with cataloguing all the wrongdoings being done by Vance and Trump, but to say doing that and blaming voters should take precedence over criticizing the Democrats - the only organization with the scope and scale required to push back - is completely defeatist. If the analysis of the election is that the public is just evil and stupid, there's really nothing left to do.

We all, or at least, we all *should* understand that Democrats need to do a hell of a better job at offering actual policies to people to turn out their vote, and that that's a discussion worth having. But that should be separate from whether we should let people like Vance off the hook by immediately pivoting to blaming Democrats every time a Republican says or does something indefensible.
Right, I generally agree with this, which is why I never criticize people for pointing out all the fukkery that's happening at the hands of MAGA right now, or talking shyt about Trump and Vance. I've done it myself in here. I just think it's also letting Vance off the hook to refuse to hold Democrats accountable for their myriad of failures in fighting on our behalf. Because they're the main force that can fight back. Which is why I'm fine with pivoting to demanding they do better when Republicans are running wild.

Steve Davis is a force at DOGE, which has adopted Elon Musk’s move-fast-and-break-things approach.
Davis, a devotee of Ayn Rand and an aerospace engineer who earned degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford, was an early hire at SpaceX and has worked for Musk for more than two decades.
His prominence at DOGE surprised few who have dealt with Musk. When the Tesla and SpaceX chief executive acquired Twitter, employees were struck by Davis’s deep involvement across the company. He influenced product, purchasing and talent. And he was relentlessly attentive to marshaling data to cut costs.
