Remember during the Reagan, Bush, and Clinton years, when everybody's child was so precious, and everybody had a "My Kid Made The Honor Roll" bumper sticker, and everybody's child either lived in "Chuck and Cheese", or was allowed to run amuck, and make a mess in some "All You Can Eat" buffet every weekend, which made them fat?
At the same time, they made cocaine into cheap crack, loaded all the hoods, big and small, with crack and weapons, loaded up the prisons and cemeteries with young brothers, threw the Black mentally ill out on the streets, causing many young Black women to sell their bodies to rent cheap motels, and replace their medication with crack, while everybody in the hood who was already hooked on marijuana, graduated to crack and PCP, aka "Love Boat"...and it resulted in many young Black women in these hoods selling their bodies for crack, etc... as well.
This was the birth of Gen X. The name was originally for Black youths who recently came outta high school, and ran into this mess when it first started, and they had no hope. So they were X'ed out. Most connected the the "X" to Malcolm X, and were expected not to live long. In other words, Generation X was suppose to be the last generation of Black youth. Nobody even called White youths in this age group at that time, "Gen X". That was akin to calling them short lived, with no future as well. Never would anybody have thought that White people today, between 43 and 59, be calling themselves "Gen X". Talkinbout copying off of Black people
But it ain't really about the Boomers, Gen X, The Millennials, Gen Z, Gen Alpha, or even Gen Bozo at things point.
It's about America reaping what it have sown
It is what it is.
