Gavin Newsom has repeatedly denied that he’s planning to run for President, but then again, who openly admits that shyt unless you're the incumbent or you were President before.
I dont think he is running for President, maybe VP, but him being Governor of California is an automatic disqualification in a lot of Republican voters minds because that makes him a dirty socialist.
I think he’s maybes feeling himself a bit too much after that recall here. Newsom wasnt the best during the pandemic, and he was shown to be an aristocratic hypocrite, but Larry Elder was
. Californians aren’t dumb enough to vote in someone as crazy as Larry Elder who sounded like every batshyt right wing politician since the Apricot Ayatollah took office. Not that our politicians are great by any means though…
I think Newsom is going to be the Democrats attack dog, and he’ll get something out of it in 2024…maybe a position in the Presidents cabinet (if the Dems win) or VP like I said earlier. I don’t think he releases this ad with Biden not saying anything about running again and talks about Kamala Harris in 2024 with the intention to run himself, that’s just too sloppy. Infighting in the Democratic Party (Bernie Sanders fiasco) is one of the reasons we got Trump in the 2016.
Democrats can’t have someone talk a bunch of shyt about Republicans if they’re in an important position in hopes to swing Republican voters or something. Or maybe the old guard and the leadership are stuck in the old ways of trying to take the moral high ground and this is the younger, less p*ssy side of the party doing the dirty work.
They can have someone (or even more than one person) be their mouthpieces for finally combatting the Republicans in the media instead of doing spineless and pointless things like singing God Bless America after Roe v. Wade ruling outside the Capitol like they’ll go down in the history books in dramatic fashion for it
. Those people will be able to keep some of the heat off bigger figures in the Democratic Party.. and the old guard that’s currently running shyt and refuses to play dirty.
DeSantis is fukking up Florida to the sane people of the US, but not the people that voted for his ass and the people like them. They’re probably still high off of DeSantis basically kicking out Disney out of the state for chiming in on the Don’t Say Gay bill. Even if the state is going to shyt by objectively every metric, the rich can afford to be hateful and the poor can’t afford to not be hateful. That’s why they want to kill the middle class
