Doesn't mean anything. Being in the GOP will automatically get you close to 40% of the vote. trump has shown us that there's literally nothing a GOP candidate can do that will affect that 40%. At that point it then becomes an issue of seeming "reasonable."

Everything he has done since winning has been trying to convince mainstream media and the non-ideologically committed voter that he's not a crazy trumpkin.

I'm telling you, keep an eye out.

Yup. Now, he will still get some pushback bc of how warmly he embraced trump. But he can very easily dodge that by saying he was president and it was important to have him on your side etc, or some other variation of how you can’t just disengage from the process etc.
