This is the OG series, started in 1981. "Goosebumps" didn't start until 1992.

I saw this on some promo truck during Comic Con, and watched the whole trailer, so the marketing worked, because I'll see this, absent of any terrible reviews. I read all those books in elementary school, and even co opted/ one into a short story in 6th grade. Some of those stories were really unnerving as a kid, but it was really the visuals that accompanied it. I actually liked Del Toro's produced 2011 'Afraid of the Dark".

The Scary Story books were a lot darker and scarier than the Goosebumps books. Granted they were only three books made, but they consisted of a compilation of multiple short stories. I guaranteed you the stories in those books will still creep you the fukk out, especially the "Bloody Mary" one or the Bed By The Window".

I used to love these books when I was a kid. I still remember The Hearse Song, Thump, and Cat Eyes from the 2nd and 3rd books. I got these books for oldest last year she wasn’t messing with them until she saw the movie was coming out.
