i feel u. im sure i would have felt the same way if i saw breaking bad before the wire, but wait til u finish seasons 1 thru 4 and then re-asses how u feel about both shows. i would be surprised if u werent leaning more towards the wire.
seasons 3 and 4 = incredible television.
Yeah, I see most of Breaking Bad first, (was thru to season 4's end) before even starting teh Wire, which I just got thru over the summer. Somewhere between the end of season 1 and mid-beginning of season 3, I had already proclaimed the Wire as being the better show and season 4 only made me especially hold it above Breaking Bad.
The complete and intricate heel turn of Walter White is pretty much the only thing that I'd say BB does better than the wire (seeing as the Wire didn't really have something like that in it at all) and the only aspect of depth that's on par with the wire's depth, but even that is a lil bit out there moreso due to BB's sensational, surrealistic nature. The sheer depth of the wire as a whole and how everything plays out and all the intricacies of character depth/development and how ever scene and practically ever piece of dialog holds a high magnitude of weight to it, even if it takes the whole season to see it is just...
