finished two 1/2 paths.

the life sim really brings this game all the way down. It's ok the first time through but holy shyt having to sit through tea parties and give items to people is the most excruciating shyt ever. Game without the life sim is a 9 with it it's like a 7 the first time and a 5 or 6 every time after.

Honestly, it has the best combat out of any JRPG as of late. Although that depends on how much you like strategy against an action or turn-based. Especially when I got to do my last 2 playthroughs on maddening difficulty it even got better because I actually had to think out my moves. It is easy to become OP in hard and especially in normal. The biggest issue with the game is that act 1 is the same for all routes, but at least the cast of characters you start with is always different.

Another thing we all love to shyt on Pokemon for half-assing Sword & Shield. People forget that this is the first Fire Emblem game to be on a home console since Raident Dawn which was released 12 years before 3H. I never got to play either Path of Radiance or Radiant Dawn, but the FE community believes 3H is the best FE game since Path of Radiance. I am super excited where they plan to take the series next.

Started playing this game last weekend and I can not put it down. This game is amazing. I’m about 35 hours in so far. Was working from home and started playing. Came back to like 15 missed emails :russ:

I have to relax!

 I’m taking it with me to the office tomorrow though.

Okay, now I’m 60+ hours into the game. I’m loving it so far but man this game long as fukk, I love RPGs but why they always have to be 100+ hours. This nikka done turned Super Saiyan and now people are not who I think they were. One of the teachers wilding out now and Rhea was like

:leostare: Professor, kill this bytch.

:dwillhuh:

This game has so much fluff though. From running around the the town, to all of these support conversations, studying and tea time. Geez. I’m having fun though but the voice over dude been saying Chapter 1 this whole time.

How many chapters are there!?!? :damn:

P.S. Lysithea is a fukking BOSS!

Sounds to me like you are getting to the best part of the game :pachaha:

Three Houses is on the short side of chapters compared to other FE games but makes up for it since there is more content available to the player. The amount of chapters depends on the route you choose. Although like you said there is a lot of fluff. I think it is very possible to do a whole playthrough in 50 hrs by just minimizing the monastery stuff and not grinding. IMO none of the difficulties requires grinding.

I’m literally going to the monastery at least once a month to talk to EVERYONE, return EVERY lost item, making sure EVERYONE motivation IS AT 100%, watching all their personal stories, doing the mini quest around the monastery and the battle quest due before a certain date, answering the advice questions at the cathedral. I even do tea time for every birthday. Even for the nikkas not on my squad incase I need them one day.

Wait, their are different routes :ohhh:

I didn’t even realize this was a thing. I just found out this game has DLC too. I just have this bad habit of trying to find and do every little thing possible before moving forward. Maybe I’ll do a second play through and ignore all the grinding stuff.

Actually, I was the same way in all 5 of my playthroughs lol. (One of the routes I played again since I wanted to use the 4 new DLC characters)

I mostly referring to the extra Auxiliary battles in terms of grinding. Actually doing the paralogues is actually important since you get some great items from those. But it isn't anything to worry about on your first playthrough.

I might finally do a blue lions playthrough and give up on teh golden deer

I just hate the forced tea times and searching for gifts. This game would easily be a 10/10 without the school sections, they really dont add much to me that couldn’t be achieved in a less time consuming fashion

That school shyt is what turned me off to this game, it takes too damn long to do all that shyt and it's not very interesting. If it wasn't for that this game is the truth.

shyt, I’d ever prefer if it was just like some random shyt you click on and faces and voices pop up instead of having it be fully walkable. It’s just so time consuming for no reason.

I prefer my tactic games to be points you click on a map to initiate an event.

next one should cut down on the dating sim features and make the battle maps more detailed and interactive. Still top 5 game on Switch

This game was amazing but I'll probably never return to it again. I did Edelgard and Claude's routes. Never did Dimitri or the church. Never even bothered with the DLC either. I think doing Edelgard's route first really helped my appreciation for her as a character. She's still crazy as hell but I don't totally disagree with her thinking.
