For starters there is a reason why MJ or Kobe or Bron or whatever top 1% of the 1% player you wanna name is who he is. These dudes are special. They are outliers. They were destined to be what they became/are. You can't expect...or rather it's not reasonable to expect dudes that aren't that (aka the overwhelming majority of players) to be that or anywhere near that. People worship these dudes and then ironically underestimate just how special they are. It's like grabbing some 6 year old that won a couple talent shows, beating him, psychologically abusing him, having him live in poverty with 9 other kids, and forcing him to practice all day and then wondering why he's not Michael Jackson. Kwame was a big, athletic kid. He wasn't THAT. And no amount of prodding or flat out bullying was going to change that. If anything, that's on the org for taking him number 1. Says a lot that Pau, aka the best player by far, wasn't even considered.

Also, nikkas gotta stop treating "old school" like it's above reproach. There are a lot of old school things there were and still are effective and necessary. There are a lot that aren't. Just because it's old school doesn't mean it's the best way to go...especially when you are trying to do some new school shyt. You are the first squad to take a HS kid 1st overall and you wanna cling to old school? You gonna be old school, draft a senior and do him like that. Beyond that, some of that shyt sounded like straight sabotage. Sounds like stuff you do with a player that you didn't actually want. I also find it funny that folks cling to "old school" or MJs winnerness but yet turn around and blame Kwame for that shyt not working. If the shyt is so effective and so above reproach why didn't it work with this young physical beast? Why did this team go the way of plenty of other Wizard's teams? It ain't Kwame's job to make the approach work and look good, it's the approaches job to do that for him. Either it's effective and the way to go, or it's not. We got cold hard results.

This all comes down to folks giving MJ that halo and refusing to acknowledge he may have been on some bullshyt and also the fact that it's easier and feels safer to shyt on "scrubs" (that ironically would destroy every single member of this site on any court any where right now even in their flabby stage) rather than going at the big dog.

As a Bullets/Wiz fan salute to the OGs:salute:

Especially Etan he was down with Kwame from the jump

Real talk they where going into detail and they weren't making any excuses just telling it like it is...

That narrative shyt in sports is real tho and how it can set a players career back from maxing there opportunities on and off the court....Its clear thats what pissed off Kwame internally more than the other shyt....Hence why he's going after the media more than the players/coaches during those year even though he probably hates Doug Collins guts..But you have to give it Kwame for staying solid and productive through all that BS and sabotaging..

@48:00 Etan breaks down how the bytch ass reporters blatantly stirring up the beef between gil/kwame.....

The main blame is Doug Collins. He has always been a crap.coach. I'm a lifelong Bulls fan and I saw how dude would panic when shyt got tight and just relied on MJ to bail him out...he wasnt coaching a gatdamn thing.

And he def fukkedKB up....
At no point was Kwame gonna be a star player, he had limitstions(wasnt great catching ball, no counter moves)....he wasnt ever gonna justify being #1 BUT

With better situation and more sympathetic situation, he coulda had Tyson Chandlers career

Tyson played under a hardass who would throw you under the bus publicly....Scott Skiles talked much shyt on Tyson, he was considered a bust for a while...however he got traded to NOLA and got to play with CP3 who saved his career. All tyson had to do was D up and catch lobs. All of a sudden now Tyson gets respect in the media, now hes an important dude. Had he stayed under Skiles, he would have not broken out

Had Kwame got to play with J kidd in Jersey, his career ends up a lot different

He ends up being a solid starter who gives you 14/9 with great post defense

Situation matters almost more than pure talent sometimes

Brolic... Alcoholics
How is that any different than getting your car popcorn’d which I find to be more disrespectful? Or Gilbert Arenas shooting Nick Young with paintballs. There’s plenty of videos of vets throwing balls all around the arena and telling the rookies to go get it. The worst thing I’ve heard about the whole Kwame and MJ thing is that he called Kwame a feggit but Kwame already denied that. Everything else sounds like regular rookie hazing. shyt if u think this is bad, go read what them hockey cacs do to rookies. That’s some real mental trauma :mjcry:

What makes it worst is that there was no real player/human development to be done either. Those four dudes called it fukked up and they played with the guy. The fact that you think it's pales in comparison to other shyt just shows that you're part of the problem that they're talking about.

You weren't there but somehow you have the right to downplay what they were talking about.

The Truth
The fact that your the first person to post this 4 pages in tells me how little the Coli actually listened to this video.

Brehs....during a shoot around, in front of not just the rest of the team, but IN FRONT OF MEDIA MEMBERS, MJ kicked a ball all the way up into the upper bowl and told Kwame to go get it before the bus leaves.....

How does a 17/18 year old anyone react to such disrespect if MJ did that to them? How was that in anyway a 'helpful' exercise for team building???

@TradePascalSiakam walk me through how a washed up former champ doing shyt like that is showing the team how to win?
You can tell they didn’t watch the video... not even half of it

Saying it’s “4 nikkas sitting around complaining”...

No, it’s 4 professionals that was actually THERE telling you everything Kwame said was true and how he was being treated was unusual even to them.

And Etan is saying people are calling him to try to calm Kwame down and he’s refusing to do it because it’s chickens coming home to roost.

Nobody cared until Kwame opened his mouth to respond to the disrespect after 20 years of being quiet and people are like “I never knew this Kwame existed” and they’re telling you it always did. Kwame was just young, a rookie, thrown in a shyt situation with a shyt team.

you dont know what he would have done elsewhere. The damage was already done

Not every is players meant be great for sure but part of being great is being put in the right situation to max your talent..Those first few years in the league are crucial to a young players development esp big men who require more coaching than wings or guards...the Wizards provided none of that :deadmanny:

T Nez is the homie!!

will always be a fan of dude

He mentioned had a shoe deal with No Limit..He said they sent him a rotation of 20 kicks thru the season while Jordan gave Rip 3 pairs for the season and told him he wasn't worthy of any more:deadmanny:

Bruh… nobody that expects to play is lifting weights on game day like that. For 2 - 3 hours? Cmon
It was before shootaround too.

Lifting weights, running suicides, etc., like it was a pre-draft workout.

Etan said nobody wasn’t doing that shyt not even other rookies his entire career in the league. But let The Coli professionals tell it then they’ll say that everyone was running and lifting for hours before the game on gameday
