Linares standing around way too much man. Like another breh said, a jab would have made a really big difference. Linares could have won this fight. I'm just not seeing it with Loma man. He's good...but I don't think he's ATG yet. If he fights Mikey and beats him I'll give it to him. Mikey though beats this kid up and then stops him.

i'm saying!!!!!!!!! there were times during the fight where i'm like "Jorge, just throw a damn jab and stop allowing Loma to easily get on the inside" :mindblown:

and obviously a lot of that had to do with who was on the other side of the ring, but damn, it was frustrating at times

There's clearly money to be made with commentary-less sports. ESPN was absolutely embarrassing with it, unbearable.

Anyway, this fight makes me even more of a fan :blessed: I was scared for a second and had the fight even 85-85 before the 10th :whew:

That's why I think the Salido L was a blessing. Made Loma realize that pro boxing was not a game. Since then we saw Loma could get dirty with Rigo, Sosa and could bring the fight to Salido and GRJ (@patscorpio still mad I see :umad:). Dude is not sweet, is not scared of challenges, does not cherry picks, go straight to the champs' heads. I would like him defending his belts more and staying in weight classes longer but can't get mad at him trying to chase greatness. Anyway, as said already, Loma needs to stop being too cocky, now that he's in heavier weights, he needs to be more careful though that right from Linares was perfect and would have KD plenty of fighters. But I see Loma in the same style as Pacquiao (not same tier yet obviously) in the sense that they favor offense detrimentally to their defense so the probability of Loma getting KD or KO is higher than the average if he's caught clean going forward. But at the same time his opponents will always be under heavy fire and under the threat of getting KO'd or mentally defeated so it's a double edge sword for them too.

People will always bring Salido's name and they conveniently forget that as a 2nd pro fight, going for the strap, he actually looked good in there but he was just too green. Now, man moves up in weight, gets KD then comes back with a KO against the champ who was far bigger, had bigger reach, better power, that's looking good in my book. AJ came back from a KD against Wlad and that meant he had heart... Why no props for Loma for the same against an harder opponent ? An L or a KD won't diminish what he accomplishes anyway, all the greats got KD (even Floyd but ref didn't see it). But I get it, now that Loma is KOing bigger dudes, it's not about him being a pitty patter anymore, it will be about him getting KD by Linares now. Moving goal posts much ?

Loma needed his flurry that Linares just took for whatever reason. Linares was putting serious hands on him.
When he's overconfident, Loma disregards defense which is not good. He was getting touched up against Marriaga who was several notches below his level too.

Yea. Eventually when he's doing that stand in the pocket and throw 3 soft punches then 2-3 hard punches without really moving he's going to get countered. I see Loma fighting differently going forward at 135.

Loma has the goods, brillinat skill display but has no Manny Pacqaoi scary power impact speciality.
True, but if he's going to stay at 135, he has to box more. It's funny Loma's getting all this shade now, where was it before he looked vulnerable?

Most of the ring needs a visit from the #ConsistencyCops

Nor does he have Manny's speed. Manny was a fukking terror at the sub 140 weights. That's why I laugh when people compare Loma to Floyd--hes not even on Manny's level.

bruh its not that easy. Loma slipping like he does neutralized that. Fact is Loma almost always slips, bobs and weaves.. all Jab neutralizers especially if you good at it like Loma. it takes a lot of energy and conditioning to do it constantly which is why most boxers dont do it. Jorge knew it even tho he caught him a few times he missed a whole hell of a lot too. Missing a heavy jab takes energy out you then u got this moving ass fukker loma hitting you with bee stings.. you get tired and you get caught in the later rounds. It really is a mental thing

lomachenko has been in two tough fights now. one with salido. one with linares. he lost one. he edged out the other one. both tough gritty fights. wont completely get blown out. wont completely dominate either. thats a good place to be. thats a place where roman gonzalez used to be. roman gonzalez used to have tough gritty fights with guys like this too. and he was called pound for pound number 1 for it too. and then the guys started getting bigger. and they started hitting harder. and then those close wins started turning into something else.

Edged out?

He won by KO in the 9th round breh...what you talking about?:heh:
