There's clearly money to be made with commentary-less sports. ESPN was absolutely embarrassing with it, unbearable.
Anyway, this fight makes me even more of a fan
I was scared for a second and had the fight even 85-85 before the 10th
That's why I think the Salido L was a blessing. Made Loma realize that pro boxing was not a game. Since then we saw Loma could get dirty with Rigo, Sosa and could bring the fight to Salido and GRJ (
@patscorpio still mad I see
). Dude is not sweet, is not scared of challenges, does not cherry picks, go straight to the champs' heads. I would like him defending his belts more and staying in weight classes longer but can't get mad at him trying to chase greatness. Anyway, as said already, Loma needs to stop being too cocky, now that he's in heavier weights, he needs to be more careful though that right from Linares was perfect and would have KD plenty of fighters. But I see Loma in the same style as Pacquiao (not same tier yet obviously) in the sense that they favor offense detrimentally to their defense so the probability of Loma getting KD or KO is higher than the average if he's caught clean going forward. But at the same time his opponents will always be under heavy fire and under the threat of getting KO'd or mentally defeated so it's a double edge sword for them too.
People will always bring Salido's name and they conveniently forget that as a 2nd pro fight, going for the strap, he actually looked good in there but he was just too green. Now, man moves up in weight, gets KD then comes back with a KO against the champ who was far bigger, had bigger reach, better power, that's looking good in my book. AJ came back from a KD against Wlad and that meant he had heart... Why no props for Loma for the same against an harder opponent ? An L or a KD won't diminish what he accomplishes anyway, all the greats got KD (even Floyd but ref didn't see it). But I get it, now that Loma is KOing bigger dudes, it's not about him being a pitty patter anymore, it will be about him getting KD by Linares now. Moving goal posts much ?
