It takes bout a good 2 weeks to find a new gig in tech. Slightly longer for FAANG types. I can imagine nikkas there are slinging those resumes out like crack in the 80s right about now.

Breh, a lot of people lack guidance and live vicariously through rich people/ celebs. Championing and justifying bad behavior.

The past weeks, between Drakes bar about Meg, Ronaldo’s interview and this twitter situation, a lot of people have shown how stupid they can get when someone they idolize puts a wrong foot forward

If you look in Blind, a lot of engineers were frozen out of packages they negotiated and job offers rescinded.

But those were probably for areas getting cut or a reduced head count.

You gotta spend your way out of a recession (product and engineering) otherwise you’re run the risk of being completely unprepared on the other side of it. And having to wait 6 months ti onboard the new engineers you inevitably start hiring.

That’s why I don’t get MAGA cacs celebrating big tech layoffs. The top engineers were offered jobs at the same company in areas of growth and investment. The good to so-so engineers will have new jobs in no time.

On top of that, this isn’t some passion project like a movie or a video game or going to space or green motor vehicles that people are willing to bleed over. It’s a fukking twitter subscription service. Elon not even giving them twitter chains or nothing :dead:

The whaling/culling technique is not "bad" but it ONLY works if you can get through the process fast enough to keep the 10% elites from leaving. On top of that.....they WILL want more $$$$$ and better benefits. Elon is playing hardball with the best employees. That's like the Bills and Chiefs playing hardball with Allen and Mahomes. Shyt doesn't work on the top dawgs.

The dude in those tweets sounds like he's trying hard to get an Elon co-sign.

You don't remove remote work, impose super tight deadlines and significantly increase the workload with no real compensation increase and 'retain the best talent'. If his policies were 'retaining the best employees', he wouldn't have been begging some of those key players to stay. There's no way you make an assessment of who is 'getting things done' and who isn't in just a couple of days.
