This will be one of the biggest blows (if not the biggest) to the Black community.
The DOE oversees the Pell Grant system and its spending. As of February 2024 72 percent of Black Americans use Pell Grants to pay for college and universities.
HBCU’s are responsible for 1/5 Black graduates despite only being 101 out of 6,100 colleges and universities in America; HBCU’s are responsible for 75 percent of all PHD’s, 85 percent of Black doctors, 80 percent of Judges (you know the rest).
75 percent of HBCU funding comes from Pell Grant students.
So conservatives will say well they will just give money to the states. Except for one problem, 94.7 percent of all HBCU’s are in Southern States (unless you count Maryland as a southern state then it’s 97 percent).
Republicans have already shown what the believe about higher education as they have slashed education budgets (Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama) or have not given HBCU’s adequate funding (Tennessee, Florida and North Carolina).
This is an absolute disaster.
So who is gonna control and manage schools? States?
@Jean JacketHow will HBCU’s be affected.
btw he just called americans stupid
"we cant do worse"
we have to normalize Trump insanity but you honestly trust an octogenarian who didnt accomplish shyt in his first term to turn around childhood education in a country of 300 million? The poor will suffer, which is par for republican administrations.
You aren’t thinking out loud. This is the exact move. Cutting access to higher education to give “value” back to bachelors degree as a paper class barrier to the middle class. The fukked up thing about this is that red states will get hit the hardest with the departure of DOE. I believe most will look for colleges in blue states due to them being the strongest in dealing with these changes. Also to consider with the department being gutted, fafsa would be moot as well. With a quick google search, 85% of students attending college get some type of funding from it(including my sister). This will increase the needed funds to attend college and in turn, students will have to take on higher amount of loans. When they go for loans, they wont be backed by the DOE and unfortunately these students will have to get high interest loans that will take a substantial amount from their paychecks. Which would reduce the ability to rent, buy a car, or even have the thought of buying a house in the future.
I'm just thinking outload, but its gonna be a lot worse. He is planning to alot more that will make living in this country unbearable.
Most HBCU’s are backed by the DOE funding or laws that tie state institutions together. For an example, University of Texas actually indirectly funds Texas Southern University through General Appropriations mandates that larger institutions feed the smallest (at least here in our state).Man, they'll probably deem HBCUs unconstitutional or some shyt and have Kappas looking like revenge of the nerds.
Im not against a review or even a revamp of the DoE. shyt… VA, DOD, Congress, etc… all need retooling. I’m not a fan of longstanding government policies that seem to help the wealthiest either.
But to just replace shyt without a legit plan of action or guideline going forward
But maybe Elon is correct and temporary hardships are needed to help change peoples consciousness out here.
Age of Enlightenment… Let them fukk shyt up and lets see if people start facing the truths about themselves.
Or… lets just all be stupid af . Ignorance really is blissful all the way up to the point when it’s not.
Local elections won’t matter anymore. With them controlling all of Congress they about to redistrict and gerrymander the FK out of the map to lump on non compliant votes together and gut their voting power.Making local elections more important than ever.
Governors like Abbott and DeSantis have been making world news showing you just how much power a governor actually has. If the federal government isn't going to allocate funds, then that may mean higher property taxes on businesses in the state which can be used to fund education.
The states that will suffer the most from this are a lot of the southern states. They will never beat the "low iq" allegations. Half of this country will literally be as stupid as an average 3rd grader as homeschooling and private religious schools become the norm.
This is fantastic news for you if you're a scammer. You are about to FEAST on these morons.

But Black men en large didn’t want to vote for a womanThis will be one of the biggest blows (if not the biggest) to the Black community.

Property taxesIdk if it’s been asked already. But how will states get funding for education? Will it be population based? More kids in the state = more money for education? Who is going to reign in these racist states?
My kid is going to be starting kindergarten when trumps term ends and, if these education changes actually happen, we are going to have to put him in private school.
