Respectfully disagree.

1. Elon is full of shyt. He grew up in an apartheid South Africa. He is well aware of the impact of restricting resources from a group of people and the benefits of hoarding it for another. Don't be fooled and think anything less.

2. One can make a logical argument at the money spent in the Department of Education. However, them like most agencies "have" to operate from rules that create waste. Those rules are developed by Congress who usually make rules based on advice from lobbyists. There are problems on the federal level. The quality of education is also a problem on the local level. Just this year we saw school districts across the country eliminate any mentioning of critical race theory. School districts across the country also reduced the amount of recess, physical education, and music. Also add increasing class sizes while getting rid of teacher aides.
Good points. We actually had a local election to increase school funding to help each child. We have a lot of kids from low income communities that aren't getting the level of education they need, so ultimately what I'm saying I am generally optimist about the education system, but it certainly is without flaws and if I had children I would more than likely put them in private school or move somewhere with a better school district. My sister and I had private and public education.

They mostly do. Problem was the DoE became useless because they were always at odds with State admins. DoE withholds funding if you don't comply with their demands. That's not usually a bad thing, but when test scores aren't improving you have to wonder why the DoE budget is so large and who is getting the money.

I don't think the DoE necessarily has to be closed, but a revamp is needed if we're going to have one. As of now, the Department of Education isn't helping to educate anyone and is just a piggybank for grifters.
bingo.

Exactly

It was majority uneducated whites that voted for him. Uneducated latino men too but thats just as expected.

Trump does well with the uneducated.. of course he shuts down Department of Education
Plus he didn’t win by a landslide either which makes this drastic shyt sounds like a “Grab’em by the p*ssy” move. He won by basically the same amount of people who voted for him in 2020. Last I looked like he only got 3% - 5% more of the popular vote than Kamala did too.

This is 100 project 2025 White Supremacist pushing for what they want

So without the Department of Education in place, does this means any wacko can open up a school because they won't have a formal education guideline or standard to follow?

You’re probably right. But gotta go with the hand you are dealt.

Trump is our reality right now and if public schools start losing funding, staff and resources….I can deal with a bit of Jesus talk in school to make sure my kid is actually learning some shyt.
What the fukk you think is more likely?

Black inner cities just accepting the new laws that remove millions of black government workers and black school workers and rural area schools and government staff?

Or people refusing the shyt and all hell breaking loose all around the country?

Do people not realize that we have laws that gives us the right to forcibly remove a tyrannical government?

Do y'all just forget that shyt every morning until you are reminded?

Those red states are gonna be fukked. If you live in a state who's Department of Education is run by competent people, your kids should be fine.

There is some merit to removing federal bureaucracy to some departments. For example, through the No Child Left Behind Act, it mandated states to set testing standards which has been a complete disaster. Most of these schools teaching kids on how to pass these tests, instead of actually teaching to learn. And through these tests, funding was allocated based on performance. It has become a cash grab for a lot of districts with teachers even cheating and changing answers to student's tests or some other tomfoolery.

I don't agree with completely removing DoE, but it needs to be revamped.

Breh, each state have their own Department of Education. What this means is that each State's DoE will have complete control of their own state education without having to follow any federal mandates.

Put education back in the hands of racist cacs bruhs.

Goodbye hbcus
Goodbye racist accountability at universities
Poor become dumber and further beholden to the wealthy.

It's wild how we'll still overcome this

Yeah, I figured. So a lot of states down south are completely going to be a shytshow, even more than they are now.

Except of course for more expensive private schools, especially the ones who have a standard curriculum across states they're located in.

Additionally, moving between states will be more tedious. I think it'll be tougher to collect non-bias data on student performances as well.

Definitely some tradeoffs.
