Even so, it cost them their reputation and caused the decline of Japanese Games in America. Their smaller than expected installer base forced Japanese developers to go to the 360 cause they needed to make a profit. In turn of the Blu Ray, very few 3rd party companies ever released exclusives for the PS3 and cause even long time supporters of the PS brand to go elsewhere. They lost a lot of things that built the PS brand in support of the Blu Ray. Was it worth it?

So why the Vita so damn expensive? And where are the original games after 2 years of release? I ain't even a M$ stan, but how Sony is so damn arrogant after this, and still has stans, just blows my mind. If The Big N or M$ done anything similar to this, they would have left the console race long ago.

You are looking at it wrong. It's not the blu-ray (which I don't see why the developers wouldn't like), but the fact that the 360 was an immediate hit in the US so developers chose that as the lead platform, and that lead to half assed ports to the PS3. Blu-ray was a smart choice by Sony in the long run.

Ps3 sold over 70 million, blu ray replaced DVD, yes it was worth it
The ps brand did not lose its support

And Japanese developers shot their own self in the foot, most of their games are garbage point blank period

Microsoft is arrogant enough to make people pay to play games that they payed for, using the Internet connection that they pay for. You seem to have a problem with just Sony tho:sitdown:

:comeon: Yea M$ isn't arrogant at all.
We don't need Bluray says M$ Xbox News: Microsoft: Xbox doesn't need Blu-ray - ComputerAndVideoGames.com

Lets not forget about the last couple of M$ E3 showings being dominated by Kinect and shoved on you whether you want it or not. Most gamers don't give a shyt about Kinect but M$ doesn't care. You're gonna take it and like it. I'm sure thats not costing the price of your Xbox to go up :smh:

I said that I ain't a M$ stan. Just pointing out the unparalleled arrogance that Sony is doing. If it was up to Sony, you will be playing PS5 with the Dual Shock controller with no new innovations. Hate Nintendo if you like, but you gotta respect someone with balls (n/h) to innovate when most of the industry is content with better visuals and nothing more.

I generally am not in the threads that I feel like are going to be flame threads (even before they become flame threads). So there's no problem with Rekka sending out a couple mentions with a request because otherwise I wouldn't be reading this shyt.

You wanna talk about innovation breh? Let's talk about including DVD in the PS2 and including Bluray in the PS3. NOBODY else was doing that. Out the box they created fullblown entertainment/gaming systems at the risk of high cost to the consumer. DVD and Bluray owes a large amount of its success to the Playstation brand. :wow:

70 million and you happy about that? Especially from the PS brand? PS2 sold 150 million at the same time frame (6.5 years) with more games. Sony failed to keep up with the times and believed that people had "to work more hours" to support it. They underperformed and they still think that they can dupe people into their shyt. Which they are doing right.

Break it down to you like this: If a First party game like M$ drop a AAA first party game, it will sell like mad. If a Sony first party AAA game dropped in the PS3, it will sell moderately. If Nintendo drops a first party AAA game, it will sell like mad.

3rd party companies drop on the 360 all the time and make profit if its good and marketed right. Hell, its the prime reason why 3rd party companies can rely on M$ to sell their software this gen. Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the few AAA third party games dropped this gen exclusively on the PS3 (sold 4 million), but it has trouble out selling the likes of Sonic Colors, a 3rd party game exclusively on Wii (4.5 million). While the reputation of the Sonic franchise at that time period (2010) was rocky to say the least.

I'm disappointed in Sony on how they dropped the ball since the ps2 days.

Unparalleled? :rudy:

They have both been pretty equal in arrogance

And what has Nintendo innovated? Making games less hardcore and granny friendly?

They made a motion controller and commenced to releasing trash after trash for it. Both Sony and Microsoft has been more creative than them:aicmon:

:wtf: Just looking at Sony as a whole you can tell they are always trying to innovate. I remember seeing Sony were working on motion controls before the Wii announcement.

Someone even wrote a thesis on Sony's innovations http://dspace.mit.edu/handle/1721.1/59120

Never on the games, always on other forms of entertainment. Which cost them 70 million + users of the PS2 that never bought a PS3. When it comes down to it, its all about the GAMES. Sony got carried away with that and still believes that people buy a GAMING system to play other forms of entertainment. I prefer my laptop and i-Pad to do that, thank you.
