The only black main character games to get praise universally are

San Andreas and we know why
Miles Morales because it’s Spidey
God of Wars I’ll give half credit due to Kratos voice actors being black

Imo this isn’t an excuse anymore. These are worldwide products with teams working from around the world.

Plus it’s not like they made a game with a bunch of japanese people.

They purposely chose that white skin to sell the game. None of the characters are actually culturally accurate. They are just all very white.

This is a product made in Japan by Japanese and localized by others. The population in their nation is well over 98% Japanese and 1% non-Asian. These people have extremely limited to no exposure to someone who is not Asian. You're asking for something that's not in their wheelhouse.
