Exactly, south Asians in Sugar Land are trying to get a public high school built for them by zoning neighborhoods where they make up the majority to the future high school. There is a new neighborhood called Telfair in which it was said that those that live their would have a high school zoned to them. Indians started pouring in and practically bought the majority of the new houses being built in the neighborhood.

I got ppl in Houston. Is telfair in Sugarland?

A simple start....these simplified points were formed by action calls made during the various other discussions. Not in any special order.

1) join/support the foundation Dr. Anderson formed and/or any local/national movements that support his economic plans, and those that attempts to solely address other community problems

2) Separate my personal beliefs from the overall agenda and goal. I'm willing to work with
-religious/non-religious,
-gay/straight,
-political/non-politically astute folks
-fashion slave or not

3) Be consistent with your agenda and accept your beliefs
-no more blurring lines between trying to uplift black folks versus people of color
- no more fear of being labeled/categorized a reverse racist, militant,smart-dumb nikka etc
-no more use of entertainment jargon, in order to justify complacency and tolerance of disrespect ("when keeping it real goes wrong", "I love black folks, but I hate nikkas" etc)
- no more wishing for black improvements, but then justifying thug behavior, gay and straight k00ns, political kooning and info skewing

4) Recognize that a few counter productive black folks, don't mean you have an excuse to abandon the agenda

5) Knowledge of self and a clear understanding of the current black plight among the various tax brackets
-know your own insecurities and flaws, so that when working with other black folks, both of your are not petty

6) Support black businesses with common agenda, over black businesses trying to solely make money for themselves
-no more supporting black simply cause of your skin color

7) Support non-black businesses who are assisting black communities directly/indirectly

8) Become more politically savvy/involved with your local government and community board. And national government too
-be willing to put pressure on politicians to support agenda that affect your community

9)Understand and accept the professional, social, and political risk involved by being openly pro black and not necessarily anti-white.Understand/accept how this risk drives us in our support or lack of support for building a black economic structure
-Just cause all your friends, lovers, family are non-black, doesn't mean that you have an excuse to ignore and abandon the agenda to balance wealth, increase black employment in various industries, increase the success of black entrepreneurship

10)Share info,experiences, opportunities with others

11)Become involved in local finance workshops/forums/investment groups to gain experience.Black entrepreneurs should participate to satisfy plan #10

Powerful posting breh!:salute:

Tying this into my thread concerning hip hop was Used against us...

We need a charismatic artist we can get behind who will kick knowledge in a digestible manner.

I believe we are a swag based people, and learning for a big percentage of us is easier when done with rhythm. We have been forced to live in a swag less existence (think the NFL), and we can do it, but it isn't as natural.

its not misleading. Capitalism is a system based on economic oppression of the majority and the majority of black America is poor...its not that hard, what part don't you understand? And get off this white people are poor too bullshyt...they still have an advantage based on your skin color over us

We live under a capitalist system though. It can work if come together under the same goal. To aggregate our money to obtain power and wealth. It would take constant vigilance that for sure.

Historically, we have tried that and failed everytime because capitalism is anti-agency..it doesn't work via coalitions and community building...that hinders capital investment because it limits private ownership and competition...blacks are a collective people; we can't progress individually, as demonstrated in history; read the book, "The Business of Black Power" which details the history of blacks attempting black capitalism and how white supremacy continuously blocked it and destroyed community coalitions...the history is all right there but some people are afraid to read the truth or too lazy to as well

Great speech. Reminds me of Malcolm X's later speeches when he got back from Mecca, he began to preach economic unity and supporting black businesses just before he was killed.

Actually, he was blasting American capitalism and advocating a black working class revolution...support the black community so the major white capitalist industries collapse and a socialist revolution begins...Malcolm was not about black capitalism at all; he was about black agency destroying capitalism altogether, which would be a domino effect in crushing white supremacy as a global system.

i don't see how this plan could work when whites could easily counteract that by replacing them w/immigrants (which is what they did)

We don't have to always be capitalist. If we work hard at educating the youth and take advantage of the black local political leaders that have controlled the major local sectors of the nation since the 1960s, we can change policies that hurt capitalist policies in this nation...even though I don't like the example because they are not black or experience the same type of hegemony, France recently built up a huge political change when they elected a socialist as President of the nation..I'm not advocating socialism in the ways it has been used in history, but we really should look at Neo-Marxism from people like CLR James and Cedric Robinson and Joe Trotter as teaching tools of how black communities can support one another and teach each other to collectivize and take control of the local sectors and combat hypersegregation...there are radical whites and other radicals that are willing to help and once enough of the people get down in the rough communities and start teaching the right way (developing solutions to deal with local, state, national, and global issues), then we can gradually remove hegemonic bricks and the building will topple...

Well looking at our immigration policy today and how capitalist hegemony is global now, it could work as immigration patterns are not as furious as they once were in terms of the Europeans...as for the Mexicans, you are correct in that they have been used against us, especially in voting on the "white" side. Davide Roediger and Tom Guglielmo talk about this in their histories so yea that's problem. That's gonna take some negotiations and coalition building on the local level, which is easier said than done.
