yeah but you arent playing a stud legit #1 every week...Jets play the Dolphins twice. I cant even name a WR on their roster.

And what did all of these numbers mean when Brent Celek was having a 156 yard day?

You don't give him whatever he wants when his play really only effects 1 player on the field.

As good as Revis is, when the Jets were 8-5 and had a chance to make the playoffs, a cornerback isn't winning you one of those final 3 games

To be fair you have a point. Having an all time great corner is more a luxury then a need. The Giants didn't have a Revis last year but they won the SB, because they had a Franchise QB. And they had a dominant Pass rush.

:dwillhuh:

Who Does?

The Best LT in the NFL isn't playing the best DE every week
The best MLB isnt stopping the best runner every week
The Best center isnt blocking the Best DT every week

It's just that the very best does a great job on both the mediocre guys and the best guys

ok....and Revis is the only guy in the league that needs a new contract the second he isnt the highest paid at his position for the season...regardless of the money he got upfront that makes up for it.

As the previous poster said....if he were a QB or a dominant pass rusher he'd have more leverage...but as a corner, Jets will most likely keep it moving without him this go around.

i thought wit the new cba you cant really hold out anymore, dont they just tack on another year to the deal thus taking away any leverage the player has?

GUARANTEED MONEY IS GUARANTEED MONEY..
:snoop:
B OVER HALF OF THE WORTH OF THE CONTRACT IS IN NON GUARANTEED MONEY .....IF HE BLOWS OUT HIS KNEE TOMORROW HE GETS NONE OF THAT :shaq:
that doesnt make any of what I said less true.

point is, even if hes injured, they have to pay him guaranteed money, which is 8.5 million. which is PART OF HIS FUKKIN SALARY.

they dont have to pay him if hes NOT injured and holding out for more $.

lol at you catching feelings and negging me when I point out inconsistencies in your own damn argument.

whats funny that I dont disagree that revis deserves a better contract and all that...I just find it funny youre yelling how if he gets injured they wont pay him another penny from his salary

WHICH IS NOT TRUE. otherwise everyone with a brain knows most peoples contracts arent fully guaranteed. not even the highest paid players.

I honestly think you have a point, if he really wants to go in depth with this, Jets really aren't expecting much this year and if he's gonna keep doing this, why not get rid of the nonsense and get something for the guy.

I really don't think it will get that far though

because they'll get butt fukked in cap penalties of they do trade him.

And if they do that, just rebuild the the whole team. Just have Woody tell those 70 year old chain smoking PSL owners that they're gonna die with no Jets title. They're not gonna trade Revis and improve.

rebuilding in the NFL is finding a QB
