Do you ever think about how powerful movies are?

Movies are...

  • Just movies, breh. Don't overthink it.

  • Quite strange if you think about it. More than meets the eye in that sense.

some people find it hard to distinguish between the feelings generated by memories and those generated by film.

show a man how great his people are on film and over time he will start to believe it in real life.

test:

try to imagine an indian or chinese ...

... indian or chinese superman ...

:patrice:

yet more or less everyone on earth can readily go with a gringo one ..

:picard:

whenever these germans address me as "man" i ask them whether they think we are in a movie ...

Word, there is a huge racial aspect to all of this. Its why most people think of an angry white man with a beard if you ask them about the divine. You ever stopped to peep how many JC named saviors are in the flicks, again and again? Never seen one with melanin.... Odd, yes? This a trick as old as time and it sticks around because its so effective at pulling people in.

This is why the industry hates Bruce Lee because up until that point there was very, very little in terms of someone (of any race) kicking ass on screen, looking cool and taking no shorts as he set his mark and enforced it. He single handedly started the martial arts craze back when and all of these hood dojos were mainly filled with "minorities" (itself a scam of a title) who were upping their strength, frequency and solidarity as they trained in the skills of self defence and the confidence this brings while living in a system that implicitly and explicitly demands their subservience and destruction.

Thats power. The power of influence to lead by example. Think about that next time you peep the examples the present on screen and you start decoding the process differently instead being encoded by it as there are only two sides of this fence when it comes to participation by perception and if you aren't seeing what I said then you are being molded instead.

I see that, but that’s part of the fun for this genre.

Letting your mind play tricks on you, whereas, you wonder about that sound you heard in the house. Knowing that zombies could never be real, however the movie was so convincing that you fool yourself for a second.

If a movie can get me on that level, i know it’s good.

What’s the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?

One of the scariest for me was The Ring, one of the most gruesome things iv qatched though it the scene from Face Off

In the sky
just think a theater full of people, in the dark, staring at a screen of flashing images with accompanying soundtrack behind them. It is really a form of mass and ceremony. And the advertisements no longer need to be spliced in as they are already placed strategically throughout the films esp big budgedt films.

The scene was without form, void and darkness was upon the face of the screen. The gods in training squirmed in their seats after having gone to the lobby to get themselves some treats for the feature presentation which beams when the projector speaks "Let there be light" and there was. Two thumbs up.

After all, is that not what it is in terms of experience? The watcher seeing "his" creation unfold yet they see not him. Interesting form of resonance at play, if you can draw the links because there are plenty and they're quite evident if your mind is attuned to that wavelength. Truth in fiction, yet again as not all is literal...

I’ve always been big into movies. For me it’s an escape from reality. I can tune the rest of the world out. I, right or wrong, sometimes judge people by what their favorite movies are.
