This is civil, not criminal so there is no jail time, just miney.The law is a New York city law, not even a state law, which makes it super odd why it's in federal court.

Even though its a civil case Its cause they are using the crossing of state lines for sex trafficking which is against federal law. Federal court can hear civil cases too.
People playing with a real lose definition of sex trafficking. There was not a commercial sex act involved.
Look if a woman was raped I am all for throwing the book at the rapist. But so many allegations lack any proof whatsoever.
