Dexter gave us 4 amazing seasons. I look at Dexter just like i look at Supernatural

The "original" Dexter story ended at Season 4. Just like the "Original" Supernatural story ended at Season 5

Everything after that is just published fan fiction. They have some good parts here and there. But they weren't part of the "Original" vision of the series.

So it ended at the Trinity right? Makes sense it fell off afterwards. Season 3 was meh with the mexican dude.

I have no beef whatsoever with jimmy smits as an actor but man what a miscast.

Never really bought that he and dexter could ever become good friends. Smits wasn't creepy enough. That character needed someone you could potentially see being just like dexter.

Yea. Ended with Trinity and Deb's death

I really liked season 3. But i gained new respect for it when i binged watch the entire series bout a year back. I was with everyone else hating season 3 when we were watching it week to week live cause no one knew where the "Miguel Prado" storyline was headed.

People bash season 3 because the Villain was just completely wack compared to the greats such as Doakes and Trinity

But season 3 had some of the GOAT Dexter moments though. When Dexter killed the child molester :banderas:

Also Dex proposal to Rita was a top 10 moment of the series,.

dexter is the only show that had me screaming at the television, specifically certain moments during season 2.

breaking bad was thrilling edge of your seat excitement, but you really haven't felt TENSION or SUSPENSE until you've seen dexter.
when you saw the trailer for the next episode of Dexter and it said Only 3 episodes left, you KNEW you were in for quality television

I cant believe people are hating on Miguel Prado. He wrote the blueprint for being Dexter's best friend and trying to take him down. I thought he'd succeed, shame he mysteriously got got by the skinner :troll:

Dude was the very definition of tension

People never want to admit it but

First 2 seasons of Dexter>First 2 seasons of Breaking bad #FactsNoPrinter

As a overall series obviously BB wins. But people really act like BB was GOAT status from the gate. Season 2 of Dexter is hands down some of the best television ever created.

I was one of the biggest fans of "Dexter"....and season 2 is when the problems started. I realize cats love Doakes but that season was the first time it became obvious Dexter was never going to get caught, and that the show would be an endless cycle of people either dying or being written off due to the writers not knowing what to do, once his secret was revealed.

Doakes was an A tier character, he should've been there in the end game. Instead they kill him off in season 2, then do a low budget retread of that plot with Quinn in season 5. :beli:

Dexter had the potential to be something real special, but like Showtime always does, it fukked up. 3 Classic seasons IMO. BB was fun binge watching but can never watch again.

One of the reasons I stopped checking Showtime. And FX is making a run for #2 after HBO.

when dexter was good it was legit a top tier show.

But when it was bad, it was really, really bad.

Breaking bad wins off consistency alone.

But I feel dexter had individual seasons better than anything from bb.

Thats what i've been saying for years. It's a no contest what show is better. Like u said when Dexter was bad it was fukking awful(Seasons 5 and 8 :scust:)

But when Dexter was good (Seasons 2/4) You can literally make a claim Dexter was top 5 to ever do it.

Doakes dying early on would've been worth it had they used the LaGuerta storyline earlier. End season 2 in denial, have Prado end up dead and suddenly the slow suspicion begins. Once Rita is dead, LaGuerta should've been on his ass, not Quinn. That in itself could've been an end game, with Mathews being involved and/or Deb finding out then. They had a solid base for characters in place where they didn't need to include more guest stars that were one offs. Instead, it takes 5 seasons for her to give a shyt about Doakes' death? :stopitslime:

i feel like a lot of people need to go back and rewatch the seasons of dexter that are considered good/great and realize how it was never anything special. entertaining but never amazing.

the show fell of so hard that it's beginning some how got overrated which is a bit of a weird phenomenon. same thing with prison break season 1. it was a cool season of television but since the next 3 were utter trash, it gets pushed up as one of the GOAT 1st seasons of television.

its such an easy narrative to write, but its lazy more often than not, imo.

The Lumber Jack story line was good cause it showed he failed at trying to be normal, only problem this should have been done in season 6, this show DID NOT need 8 seasons. We know once he became a lumber jack and lost everything, he was going to continue killing, especially that cold look he gave the camera but it feel to abrupt.

We all hated seasons 6,7,&8 because the show really needed to get darker.

FX really? Everyone seems to be fukking with SOA, but I just can't fukk with a show about a motor cycle gang. Any other FX shows I should be checking out?

I mean that's the whole point of the show. Its not gonna have twists and turns like BB. BB wasn't even in the radar in the mainstream until the last year. Then everyone just jumped on the bandwagon. So cringeworthy when they compare to classics like The Wire and The Sopranos. Not even close.
