The Black Community used to be respectable. Had family values. Strong community. Even if we were broke, we raised our kids to be smart respectable young men. How did shyt go so far left from the 40s/50s to now? Even if you wanna blame white supremacy, drugs, police brutality and everything else, at some point you gotta ask why these nikkas aren’t at least raising their kids right.

read a book once that stated in the early 20's, black people had lower divorce rates than whites.

there use to be nobody more committed to family than the black man in this country.

were we not living under a system of white supremacy then?

By nothing of their own doing? Very few.

No matter how fukked up the system is, a lot of the shyt comes down to personal choice. Look at Meek Mill :ld:
You mean the meek mill the guy who possibly was violated by a corrupt judge? :heh: at "not very few black men have been wrongly caught up in the system". There was just a story the other day of 15 black men being released from prison after a cop was caught planting evidence. There's no telling how many black men that one dirty cop framed and there's no telling how many dirty cops like him are littered across the country. Now think about how cops like that have existed for decades, then rethink your stupid ass ashy mouthed c00n post.

This topic is a bit too complex for the Coli to handle :patrice:

It's a really not, you can know and understand that we live in a system of white supremacy that's not made for us, and at the same time you can take accountability for your actions and know that great family values will put you in a better position and help you navigate through it.

Blacks usually aren't wrong about the white supremacy talking points, but blacks for some reason hate discussing the accountability and family part.

I can tell who read what Denzel was saying and who really READ what Denzel was saying.

White people were RACIST AS fukk in the 1930s and 1940s yet black people somehow still raised their kids with some sense and respect :mjlol: Have no accountability for anything brehs. Then wonder why you end up in jail brehs. It’s everybody else’s fault, never yours brehs.

I have black relatives who were alive in the 30s and 40s. Crime was rampant amongst black people because if you killed another black person, there were little to no repercussions.

These same relatives are college-educated, raised by intelligent college-educated parents, and came from environments where dysfunction was everywhere. In fact, you had a startling amalgamation of criminality, racism, education, murder, drugs, empowerment, religion, and promiscuity in the black community.

People tend to oversimplify shyt. It wasn't too much different then than it is now. In fact, it was worse.

Edit: In fact, the only main difference was segregation. If you were black, you were taught by blacks, bought from blacks. Education and business in the black community took a turn for the worse after desegregation.

Shyt was really a Tale of Two Cities, "the best of times and the worst of times"...kinda like now.

No, absolutely not. However we need to be realistic about a child's future in consideration of the circumstances with his upbringing. Folks love all those feel good stories about how this Black youth, or that Black youth came from less than ideal circumstances and "made it." Folks love those movies and I get it. The flipside to that coin though is the youth that don't "make it." We see them on the news. And there's far more local news stories featuring them than there is inspirational movies.

Or when we run into someone we're related to or know and ask how their nephew or son is doing they reply, "oh he's around." Translation he's not dead and probably just got out of jail. Too many of these kids are destined to fail and when you think about it, how selfish and ignorant is it to continue perpetuating this cycle by continuing to make babies despite being immature or lacking the means to provide a stable background?

First of all, we both know those "news" stories are just propaganda fed to the masses to continue cementing in the minds of the public the image of black people being prone to criminality. It's a facet of the very system that puts our men in the prisons. I won't say our children are destined to fail, but they're certainly going to face far more obstacles than their white peers, as has been the life of black men and women since we were "emancipated." The system is designed to ensure we fail. But that doesn't mean we stop procreating.

lol @ nikkas in here acting like cops are deliberately going to the hood to lock young black men up. I'm sure that happens but 8 times out of 10 when these young brehs get locked up, it's because of something that they did.

Yes the system is rigged but it's these boy's fault for not understanding how this country works. They hanging outside on the corner at 3am with their homies when they should have their asses at home asleep about to wake up early for work. Then the time when they get caught up and get 10 years for something minor they start crying. You should've surrounded yourself around decent people :francis:

what do strategies and methods have to do with getting married to a woman and having some damn kids?
Hard for the millions of black men who have been caught up the racist system of mass incarceration to get married and have kids don't you think? You idiots don't realize just how destructive mass incarceration has been to the black family. Not only has it literally taken millions of black men off of the streets, it has also prevented millions more black men from being able to be productive citizens. Once you're in the system and classified as a criminal that significantly restricts your options as far as employment. The system is rigged to keep black men from being able to support families. Why you people are pretending as if it's not is beyond me.
