no one will ever stay in NXT for 5+ years with minimal improvement ever again. They get a couple years to shake out, then it's time to sink or swim. Otherwise - like I said - they just end up in the way of the new people coming up, and anchor their development down.

Kelani on year 1 was better in-ring than Aliyah is right this literal instant. If they'd kept Brown Racism Barbie down there, she'd have been in the way of the Sols, the Jaidas, the Kelanis coming up in the system. And would be a terrible example lingering around. Make my words: they ain't doing none of that 'chillin in NXT forever' shyt anymore. The ones who have ended up stars out of NXT are pretty apparent. And the folk who were meh in NXT but eventually became something - like Liv - didn't do it staying in Florida on Tuesdays.

better to pay them a year of main roster money and realize you have nothing with them, than pay then 4-5 years of NXT money and still never know


the success rate on the current strategy seems about as effective as the previous one I guess. You lose some Toni Storms doing cuts too early, but... conversely, you get some of these women out the way.

I get where you're coming from, but I'm pretty much never going to call for someone still in training for something to get fired from it. Call them up and let them fail there - then at least you gave it a shot. You graduated them before you cut them. Jettisoning a person before you tell them they've completed their training just seems mean. I'm down with WWE acting like they have a heart for the first time ever. Even if it's just corporate decisions pretending to be empathy.

he's really just booking he division for them. you can see the fingerprints of it all over even Black & Gold NXT.

the truth is, HHH is a breath of fresh air from Vince's booking because Vince was stuck in the 60s. Hunter's stuck in the 90s. It's more recent, but it's still anachronistic. Every woman booked to matter in the company right now is either: a blonde or a Samoan. Rhea is his Chyna replacement, and Charlotte is his old stablemate's daughter. None of the other toys gonna get ahead of those two placements - they're too closely interwoven with his favorite thing: his own career.

You know what I mean tho, sure some of the top guys are still around like Orton, but it's not the whole roster from 2006 still there and intact with no one else able to get on the roster or move up the card.
