Wasn't she on SD on Friday?:dahell:
Yeah in a backstage segment with LDF and MCMG. Isla was also in a Speed match taping.

The weird thing about that is the Speed match was scheduled to be Alba vs Shotzi and the spoilers say it was Isla vs Shotzi instead.

I wouldn't be surprised if Alba is/was also released and it hasn't be reported yet.

don't need to keep everyone under contract anymore because you're worried they'll go be a big deal somewhere else. They got a business relationship with TNA, and AEW ain't even a semblance of the threat they used to be.

That said, I don't even think it's a cost move.
Anyone in catering is taking up space. They got a bunch of NXT talent that they need to move up just to get them up out the way of the people who can't even make TV yet. Some folk just physically in the way :yeshrug:
Who they'd be better off just releasing anyways if they have no plans or sense of direction of what they want to do with those characters. It was essentially a waste of time and money, which WWE and NXT is good at doing.

They need to take a long hard look at the NXT rosters and if they don't have any faith or sense of direction for any of those talent there, they'd do both parties a service and cutting bait with them instead of wasting their time.

I get what you're saying... but nah.
That's specifically what they shouldn't - and seemingly aren't - doing. People getting cut from NXT are the lower card main roster people that went back down there. The newly trained gonna get a bunch of grace. Can't start cutting people from developmental, for one specific reason:

AEW refuses to start it's own developmental. Can't just start handing them freshly trained people. Nah. Tony need to get off his ass and start a Power Plant or something. Until he does, if WWE starves him out of newly trained talent, picks the top options from the indies and leave only the aging NJPW/former WWE guys to get overpaid as talent infusions... AEW will literally handle it's own downfall.

The deal with TNA is letting them take their future midcard talent and get them TV time somewhere while they out the way of the people they see something in down in NXT. Means that only the bottom of the barrel developmental folk getting tossed.

Tony is running the clock out on available talent. Play the long game and he starves. Which is hilariously stupid. He has access to billions. If he starves, it's because he was too lazy to go find the food he needs.

They had it with Dark before WBD told them to axe it.

Okay so either start creating plans for those talent instead of just calling them up with no sense of direction or plans whatsoever or cut them instead of wasting their time and trotting them out there on the main roster as you're going to end up cutting them anyways in the end.

If they're worried about potentially losing and missing out on hidden gem talent, they need to do a better job of cultivating it as this current plan isn't it.

With nxt call ups needing to happen, wwe ID and the Evolve show. You gotta let talent go to have space for the new ones.

Wish Sonya could have stayed tho but I get it 😢

Which isn't a problem at all, but if you're sending those NXT call ups out there with no problem or direction whatsoever, then what are you accomplishing?

Why not just keep them down in NXT and not use them there? It would be cheaper than giving them a main roster contract.
the Aliyah Mercy Rule.

no one will ever stay in NXT for 5+ years with minimal improvement ever again. They get a couple years to shake out, then it's time to sink or swim. Otherwise - like I said - they just end up in the way of the new people coming up, and anchor their development down.

Kelani on year 1 was better in-ring than Aliyah is right this literal instant. If they'd kept Brown Racism Barbie down there, she'd have been in the way of the Sols, the Jaidas, the Kelanis coming up in the system. And would be a terrible example lingering around. Make my words: they ain't doing none of that 'chillin in NXT forever' shyt anymore. The ones who have ended up stars out of NXT are pretty apparent. And the folk who were meh in NXT but eventually became something - like Liv - didn't do it staying in Florida on Tuesdays.

They shytting or getting off the pot now.
