don't need to keep everyone under contract anymore because you're worried they'll go be a big deal somewhere else. They got a business relationship with TNA, and AEW ain't even a semblance of the threat they used to be.
That said, I don't even think it's a cost move.
Anyone in catering is taking up space. They got a bunch of NXT talent that they need to move up just to get them up out the way of the people who can't even make TV yet. Some folk just physically in the way
Yeap... every time this happens people get on the media and start acting like they just started watching wrestling a week ago. If people never got released, we'd still be watching MFs that were there 15-20 years ago... wrestlers get let go all the time, especially if they're moving others up to the main roster soon.
Wrestlers been getting let go since before any of us were watching this shyt. I don't care if it's Tito Santana, Junkyard Dog, Iron Sheik, Ted Arcidi, Marty Jannetty, Jim Neidhart, Beverly Brothers, Virgil, Earthquake, Luna Vachon, Mantaur, Henry Godwinn, Jeff Jarrett, Elias, Taka Michinoku, IRS, Tatanka, Ahmed Johnson, Alex Riley, Kizarny, The Iiconics, Hornswoggle, Duece & Domino, Layla, Snitsky, Mr. Kennedy, Rodney Mack, Maven, Haku, Enzo Amore, Victoria, Zack Ryder, Bastion Booger or whoeverthefk... the day is gonna come for MOST of em eventually.
