I would argue all RJ did was take more shots last year and that he wasn't actually any better than his sophomore year
He was arguably worse
This is his last year of any value if he chucks a bit more to get above 22PPG you know they're gonna be demanding that max extension

Denver fukked it up for everyone giving MPJ that rookie max after one decent starting season
Was if him totally or was it coaching? Or was it also the Knicks organizational philosophy?
If you use the number 2 pick on a player, he shouldn’t be the 2nd or 3rd option. The knicks draft players, but then turn around and sign veterans to take minutes away from them. Randle should’ve never been the first option on offense.
As far as Mitchell is concerned, I think with him on the team the Knicks will get to the playoffs, but as far as being a legit contender, I don’t see it. They would need another all star caliber player. Barrett is the closest they have to that and he’s only 22. I think he could develop into putting up Zach Lavine type numbers.
At the end of the day, management needs to commit to developing the players they draft because their present philosophy makes them good enough to just miss the playoffs but not bad enough to get enough ping pong balls in the lottery which is why they keep missing out on the best players in the draft.
