"A Knicka's Hart Knows No (re)Bounds" Official '24-25 NY Knicks Season Thread

The Celtics played a simple defensive gameplan and took KAT out of the game. They pinched in and defended off Precious and Hart both. So KAT had no paths to the rim, and the typical drive and kick lanes were clogged faster.

If OG starts instead of Precious, it might be tougher to get away with. Or if Hart had his three-pointers falling. The offense completely relied on Brunson, and that's because the spacing was atrocious for everyone.

Defensively...I'm not sure what the resolution is because this scheme is about forcing the opponent to take jumpers over a closeout. The Celtics are built to take advantage of those shots. I'd love to implement a bunch of switching to see how that works, but that's another scheme you only get away with if OG is available.

I don’t think we can stop the 3’s, Thibs has never cared about stopping the three. However. we can out rebound them and hopefully outshoot them on the other end. I want to see what this team looks like with OG and Mitch before I lower my expectations too. The Cavs are eating well on a two big lineup this year, The Wolves went to the WCF like that, I think the Knicks can run it better.

I ain’t a fan of Thibs but we’re an absolutely horrible playoffs or at least a disappointing playoffs next year before they even consider firing him. He’s the modern Larry Brown, and look what happened after they got rid of Larry Brown last time.

That has to change or we're getting smoked in the playoffs

You're right but Mitch would limit their 2nd chance opportunities & you best believe they're not scoring or driving to the paint finishing like they did yesterday. That kind of presence doesn't always show up in the stats. I'm sure Kornet doesn't have the game he had yesterday & those clowns shots in the paint are definitely altered
