The annoying part for me is that his reffing dominated the broadcast. Jericho Sims runs a give and go into a face-up dribble and eurostep to the rim that draws an and-one...they're too busy talking about RJ blowing his whistle to point out how tough that move is for even most wings.

No one on the telecast even realized when the Pistons started switching looks and throwing zone defenses up. Or when the Knicks came out of halftime with Feron Hunt showing at the free throw line during pick and rolls to alleviate ball pressure (which led to some nice connections with Sims). They were too busy laughing at Jefferson forgetting to raise his hand on a three point shot.

Nobody gives a damn about Jefferson, his road to reffing, or the crappy job he did. But they forcefed us that ish the whole time.

On a basketball note, it's terrifying to watch Thibs' offense flounder as soon as teams combine ball pressure over screens with some zone defense looks again. The free throw line counter worked until it didn't and there wasn't much after. Thibodeau needs an offensive coordinator, his offense hasn't looked the same since Woodson left.
It got figured out in the 2nd quarter and again in the 3rd. We'll still be in trouble in the regular season smh.

It was crazy to witness how easily they got shut down. 2nd quarter, the Pistons started with the pressure and a bit of zone defense. The Knicks became a "one pass, then take the jumper" team instantly. We know this pattern because we've seen it.

But Dice had a counter. Third quarter opens up and Feron Hunt starts flashing to the free throw line while the team runs it's usual swing pass to PnR attack. That worked three times. Then Detroit realized there would be a cutter and started blocking that option...and then we were all out of adjustments.

For three years this offense has been easy to predict and shut down. We still haven't seen a collective of counter-actions to beat a zone or press. They're completely relying on the ball handler to beat pressure. That's why Brunson was so important to get, but he's also not a silver bullet. If the coach can't adjust to address zone defenses THREE YEARS in...we're not going anywhere regardless of personnel.

Nope. Better believe the final minutes with Thibs coaching will rely on Brunson or Randle ugly ass iso. We'll still be getting killed in future 4th quarters :snoop:

Brace for more of the same nonsense just like last season. This is why I don't understand the FO's decisions about Thibs are Randle

I hope so bro because judging by the FO's decision making....I've gonna have to see it to believe it lol. Randle should've BEEN gone & Thibs should've been in the hot seat way sooner
Honestly, I can't reasonably say Randle should have been gone.

In year 1...he was frustrating.

Year 2, he literally made the knicks a bigger story than the Durant/Irving Nets. He played with heart and showed a true appreciation for the city.

Year 3, he suffered a lot of pressure after that playoff dissappointment. Showed his own frustration with what happens when you play in NYC.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded but I din't see why the orgsnization would look at him as an irreperable cancer.

He was a distraction for most of last season bro. His body language, his whole fuk you to the fans, the unnecessary technical fouls, how he'd treat his teammates when they were trying to diffuse the situation, no personal accountability & his inconsistent lackluster effort. We have young guys in the locker room that don't need to be around that kind of spirit. I've never seen such a regression & fall off in just one season.

And remember bro, this started during the Hawks playoff series & carried over into the next season & he still couldn't get it together. What makes you think he's gonna magically put it together now? We should've cut our loses because he's no leader & obviously has ALOT of maturing to do. I could understand if this was a once in a while thing but this was a consistent theme all season & it got worse

He's a cancer and that nikka sucks worse than Fournier. He was atrocious outside the bubble years.

I am going to play devil’s advocate and say we have no idea why he acted the way he did last year. However, he does seem more engaged this year so maybe both sides figured it out.

I’m more worried about how the Knicks deal with the zone than I am about Randle.
