Disney has the ability to pivot but their plan is clearly build around Spiderman like they did with Iron Man. They need Spiderman to proceed as planned. That's a fact.

That's a top 3 superhero in terms of popularity, that they've invested millions of dollars in, planned extensively to build around and you think it wouldn't be a problem for them to lose him?

People keep citing Venom like comic fans ain't been waiting on a real Venom movie for damn near 30 years. It's like "Carter 5" doing 500k or whatever first week. You think hype didn't play a part of that? You think Sony can perform like that, at will? Because if they could then the MCU deal would've never happened in the first place.

And "Spider-Man is the new face of the MCU" makes for a nice head line but the fact of that matter is Phase 4 is already planned out....and unless he randomly pops up for guest appearances, he's not even in those movies. So nah, his importance in the MCU has been vastly over stated.
