People are dishonest
They think it's just hey make exclusives and we'll buy your system.
It makes so much logical sense when you think about it, if all the systems have something exclusive that I have to buy to play it then they will right?
But every data point in the world proves that the opposite, most people don't own all the streaming services, netflix, hulu, hbo max, amazon prime, Peakcock, Disney plus.
With music Tidal, spotify, amazon music, pandora, youtube music, google play.
With phones, apple, Samsung, Hauwei, Sony, Nokia, Motorola, Asus
With web browsers, Chrome, Edge, Firefox..
The list goes on and on.
There is really nothing that works like that in the entertainment business or hardware business where everyone buys or uses 2 of something that does 90 percent of the same thing almost equally. On top of that he's not saying they give up, he's saying what he has been saying that they aren't in a console war race with sony. He said that google and amazon where going to be more of the competition that they would be facing, yall was laughing then like "how can sony and nintendo not be competition" it just shows how short sighted most of you are.
The console space while important isn't the space they are looking to try and "win" because they cannot, it's locked in with 1 and 2 going between sony and nintendo. Especially with deals going on that cripple xbox growing in the area they need. He basically said the same thing he always said but but was brutally honest and now yall acting brand new.
Like I said phil should just not say again, gamers don't really get nor care about the how's or why.
So yes a bunch of killer app exclusives would have people buy more xbox's but there is a cap on it, even more so than back in the day. And even back in the day usually a family bought one system or the other when it was sega vs nintendo. That didn't start to change until later when nintendo started doing it's own thing and xbox came in as direct competition to playstation. Then people started buying a xbox or PS and a nintendo system. With some buying all 3.
Fast forward to today and things haven't changed, But the economy of gaming has and people are more locked in now than just open to buying something new because a "playstation 2 doesn't play playstation 1 games."
