They are trying to sell gamepass subscriptions. Some games they are strategically using to drive people to xbox/gamepass but ultimately selling more consoles than sony is not their plan for success.
Fam, the strategy is to take market space from others. There is no cap on that market space they want to take.

They want to gain users from PS, Nintendo, Steam, Epic, Apple, whatever and whoever provides games, they want.

Quit acting like they’re here to cut out a little space where they can spend eternity in 3rd place.

They are losing at the moment because of games. Period.

If Sega was content with being gamers second choice they'd still be making consoles more than likely the same mediocre results. The reality is these companies are in this to dominate or a path to domination not to just put up meh results and be ok being a second or third choice.

The common gamer is not looking to spend $1000 on two systems for a library that's mostly the same multiplatform games. Only enthusiast with high levels of disposable income are looking for that. People who aren't presently dissatisfied with PlayStation are not going to suddenly jump ship because Microsoft improved their games. They'll look at their PlayStation and say most of the games Xbox has I can get here. I'm good.
U treat it like the systems have to be purchased on the same day. It's been damn near 3 years since these systems were released, plenty of time where a PS5 owner could've considered a Series X if the games were there....or maybe choosing the Series X over the PS5 if ur just now jumping into next gen

Yall really can't name one game that would warrant a purchase of that $500 box. I find that a bit concerning

There’s more Market space outside of the console market to grab than within it.

Why would microsoft fight tooth and nail spending a bunch of money and resources to fight with sony over their 150miuon loyal customers when they could reach for the 3 BILLION that aren’t attached to sony?

They want to gain users from PS, Nintendo, Steam, Epic, Apple, whatever and whoever provides games, they want.

They gain those people when they subscribe to gamepass. Look how many people here don’t have an xbox, would never buy an xbox but they currently have gamepass.

Holding games hostage to make some of those users begrudgingly buy an xbox just to play a few games is actually bad business on microsoft part.

They break even or even lose money on the console sale then the person only buys a few games and continues buying the majority of games in whatever ecosytem they prefer then that is a worthless customer to microsoft. They’d be selling more consoles and making less money.

It’s a much better business proposition to allow gamers to get in on their games from wherever they are.

They are literally bundling series x models with Forza Horizon 5. A game that came out two years ago, on their subscription service.

If people don’t think Microsoft lack for games theres no saving them. Diablo will be the best bundle game they could find since the launch of the system and it’s not even a first party game (and never will be :ehh: )

Had an XBox every generation. This is the roughest things have looked. Not too optimistic for Xbox’s future.

I still think this is a bit hyperbolic. Redfall might not be the greatest but next up is possibly Forza. If the wheels (pun intended) come off of that, then I'd worry. They should know that they have more pressure to perform. There was a dearth of games in 2022 from them. The success of 2021 is just that, in the past. No, Pentiment, while good, isn't nearly enough. They will be fine.

How is that a lie. Which playstation exclusives selling more than that?

Come on bro you really just out here saying shyt :mjlol:

GoW 2018 is over 23 mil sold
Ragnarok over 11 mil sold
Last of Us 2 10 million sold
SpiderMan 30 million sold

acting like exclusive games don’t move the needle for console sales is insane. Nobody is buying a switch just so they can play NBA 2K on the go, they buy it so they can play Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, etc

If starfield ends up being skyrim 2.0, it would most definitely boost console sales and make the platform more appealing across the board

Just admit that Xbox is down at the moment and needs to do better man damn:laff:

Really breh?

God of War 2018 and Ragnarok, both each sold over 10 million. Ragnarok is over 11 million since release. God of War 23 million.
Uncharted 4 sold 16 million and has been played by over 37 million players(the juicy metrics you love.)

Spider-man, TLOU, Horizon Zero Dawn are all 15+ million sellers.

I’m not saying no one cares. I’m saying not everyone one cares as y’all try to claim here. The majority of people playing games on playstation are not playing exclsuive games.

They're not playing a single type of game so this "not everyone cares" thought isn't making sense. The majority of people on any platform are not playing any _____ type of game. To compare numbers because you know third party developers outweigh the hardware providers own 1st party studios in sheer amounts skews this.

That doesn’t mean the games are a failure, and it doesn’t mean “no one cares” it just means lots more people care about other stuff:manny:
If 4 of the top 10 best selling games last year were all exclusives then that contradicts this "people care about other stuff" thing you're saying. There's not not one specific group of gamers on a platform.

Was referring to PS5 games. As far as i know, recent sony exclusives all sold around 10 mill.

There’s Around 150 million playstation’s in homes.

10 even 20 millions sales is only a small portion of those people.

The top sales lists are missing the most popular games, Fortnight apex etc.

If you look at most played games lists. People are playing the same damn games on Playstion and xbox.

Spider-man might be low on the list like halo is with forza, but ultimately people are playing, Fortnight, Apex, Cod, etc.

Sony said it themselves. It’s those games that make their business worthwhile, not the exclusives.
