I usually disagree with blaming entertainment for people doing terrible things, but I believe there is some merit in believing that video games theses days are having a negative effect on the younger generation.. Playing "Duty" for hours has turned kids in to inactive, unsocial zombies.. and I firmly believe this kids obsession with the game caused some of what happened at that school. Games like Call Of Duty may not need to be outlawed, but parents need to monitor and limit the intake of these games. The fact that kids under the age of 10 are playing this game on a regular basis is unhealthy as well.

Parent Problem, not a game problem. They have M ratings for a reason.

WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO TAKE fukkING RESPONSIBILITY?????

I agree. I don't think violent games, movies, music etc need to be blamed for this type of stuff.. parents totally deserve all of the blame for letting their child (grown man or not) play a violent video game at all hours of the day in depressing atmosphere.

I just hate how enthralled younger people have become with Call Of Duty, I know teenagers, pre-teens etc who live for COD. It bothers me they'd rather sit inside and play zombies for ten hours, instead of getting dirty in the woods or throwing a ball around. The youth of today's idea of social interaction is talking to people over a mic while playing Call Of Duty online. Is it the games fault? Not at all and I totally am with you that it should be a parental responsibility to limit the usage of video games.. If it came across in my post that I was blaming Call Of Duty or games in general for stuff like this, it's not how I meant it..

Games like GTA where its nothing but sick and mindless violence without a purpose need to be curbed if not banned outright.

Blood and gore within a scope of reason is OK but the way some of these games just cater towards the bloodlust that a lot of these losers who play videogames seem to have is disturbing.

not that i'm condoning gta. but the direction gta has gone in since the original is different now.you dont just run around shooting people just cause without consequence.

its realistic. you drive drunk, you get arrested (if caught) or you crash and fly out of the windshield and get hurt/die.

you shoot random people on the street the police will be looking for you. if they make you take out anyone in a mission its a bad guy to begin with.

Yeah, going on a rampage has a myriad of Feds chasing you determined to put you down. The game clearly shows that killing people is wrong, it's against the law and the consequences are great when you do it.

I agree. But I think a lot of logical thinking goes out the window when things happen like this. Its like we miss the foundation of what caused this to happen and go straight to the blame game instead of taking any responsibility I mean ZERO. Video games/entertainment would be last thing on my thinking list for reason for a massacre. We have to check our self if any progress is going to be made and you see we are far from that. This shyt is sad. :smh:

Can you read? I said that violence and blood within reason is fine, I play shooters and all that shyt too so of course I don't have a problem with that, but its irresponsible to act like games that make killing innocent people and replicating mass murder into a light-hearted spectacle aren't contributing to a larger problem at least in some capacity.

And I agree that a large and probably main culprit in all this is faulty parenting, but let's take an honest look at all aspects here is all I'm saying.

USA murder rate was at its highest when the most popular games were shyt like tetris and pacman :troll:

Video games literally have nothing to do with shyt like this fam

Damn on the news pundit show "The Cycle" on MSNBC, that just had a segment about this very issue with a guest Dr. and he shut them down on trying to link video games and movies to someone committing a crime. Once they post the vidoe on their site, I'll link it up. It was funny how it ended, and his stance caught Toure' off guard. He was so matter of fact about shyt with not one word wasted.

video games are about skill, hand-eye coord, strategy, etc. 'violence' is just the medium. I always bring up the fact that you could call chess a "violent game"
