Only insane people cannot separate reality from a video game. I first played GTA3 when I was 11. I haven't gone on any mass murder sprees, despite the enormous fun of going around and murdering random people.

Blood and gore isn't absolutely necessary to have fun. Blood is a real thing. If I shoot someone, i expect blood, guts and gore.

They can have a "no blood" mode for pussies like you :smugobama:

Can you read? I said that violence and blood within reason is fine, I play shooters and all that shyt too so of course I don't have a problem with that, but its irresponsible to act like games that make killing innocent people and replicating mass murder into a light-hearted spectacle aren't contributing to a larger problem at least in some capacity.

And I agree that a large and probably main culprit in all this is faulty parenting, but let's take an honest look at all aspects here is all I'm saying.

video games won the war obviously though

remember when "hot coffee" was a big issue for san andreas and then Rockstar games was all in court, i think they won if im not mistaken, and after that they released gta 4 which was the most wild game ever, bodies looked real when u shot them, looked real and violent when ppl got beat up, The hookers actually blew you, rode you in the car etc.

Its obvious they won the right to portray that stuff in video games, i think they must have used hollywood as an example of why the game violence is no different bc around the time that court case came out, movies like Saw, Hostile etc. were popular so they can't really say shyt about a game where 2 video game characters have sex when u got movies out there where ppl are cutting out eyeballs and smashing legs off and showing graphic scenes of torture and shyt.

Games like GTA where its nothing but sick and mindless violence without a purpose need to be curbed if not banned outright.

Blood and gore within a scope of reason is OK but the way some of these games just cater towards the bloodlust that a lot of these losers who play videogames seem to have is disturbing.

Yeah your right fakkit

Nobody every killed people in the 1950s

Or the 1800s

But if they did it was the video games fault

You Can Lock Up All The Games And Movies You Want, Sick People Who Wanna Kill Are Gonna Kill

Any Individual Who Plays A Violent Game Then Feels The Need To Kill A Bunch Of 6 Year Olds Is Clearly Not Right In The Head

It's Deeper Then "Video Games" That shyt Is A Cop Out For People Who Dont Wanna Take Responsibility For The REAL Problems In This Country

Yeah but then at the same time if we use that logic we can't really say anything to pro-gun advocates who use the same reasoning - "I've had guns all my life and never killed anyone"

I agree that its deeper than guns, video games, etc. But I think the question we need to start asking is why our society has become so obsessed with violence to the point where we are comfortable with it. Even with all these little kids dead, by new years nobody will be thinking about it....till the next massacre....then well just act surprised and outraged again, and nothing will change.

Oh word? GTA is just about mindlessly killing innocent people now? There's no plot whatsoever. It's just you push a button, and you strangle a baby. Press a different button, and you commit genocide. Gee, I must have missed that patch.

Lol. Some of you dudes are fukking illiterate.

I play violent video games, I'm about to beat far cry 3 right now which is pretty damn bloody.

I'm not laying the blame of every massacre in this country at the feet of the video game industry, I'm just being honest when I say that games that don't seem to think twice about letting you mow down pedestrians and pump old ladies full of bullets outside the frame of the plotline rub me the wrong way, and those feelings are amplified when some disturbed nut decides to turn that shyt into reality. Is it really irrational for me and others to feel that way? :comeon: I understand you dudes wanna defend this hobby at all costs, but you won't lose cool points for recognizing what's obvious, I promise.

I never said we should ban all violent video games, I said that games like GTA that encourage mindless/dark kinds of violence need to be addressed. Games that encourage the player to kill innocent people in sick and twisted ways aren't needed in a society where mass murder is becoming the norm, period. If we are going to go after guns, then we have to go after other things that are contributing to this flawed culture.

Why is blood, gore, and guts absolutely necessary to have fun in a video game? I'm sorry, but I don't get it.

mass murder is the norm now? :usure:

GTA wouldn't be nearly as popular a franchise if it weren't for the fact that unlike other games, it gives you the freedom to become a maniacal serial murderer in an ultra realistic setting. Hey, supply and demand, I get it...but if that's what the average gamer is demanding out of a videogame I have to sit back and smh.

to counter those video games would not be made if people did not buy them. Do you hold the game maker responsible or do you hold the consumer responsible who respond to these violent video games.
