Remember AA population is like 40 million, while Jamaica is just under 3 million. In relation to their population Jamaicans have been very influential. AAs are a close 2nd.

You could break it down city by city and it would be the same look at all the rappers from ny or actors from la hell in D.C. we got Samuel Jackson, Marvin Gaye
, Dave Chappelle and a whole lot of great ball players

this is total :duck:. Jamaican music was hardly influenced by american music at all.

For a start ska and reggae are both played on the downbeat, american music didn't start doing that until decades later with funk.

once reggae became dominant they were even using similar instruments, was much more bass heavy.
As someone with Jamaican ancestry illdelta is right there is heavy AA influence in Jamaican music

It's not an offshoot nor was reggae created by AAs as some coli folks have suggested

Please stop arguing because Therese breads are annoying af
I'm surprised Jamaicans would not claim one of the most iconic American rapper....

Jamaicans do not consider folks born outside Jamaica as Jamaicans

Most people (including the diaspora) really don't know much about Jamaican history/culture

Good bye Coli(2014-2020)
Anyways I would definitely say Jamaicans come second in the diaspora. Afro-Brazilians would come third(Capoira anyone? Samba?). Afro-Cubans could have been in second place but for some reason they fell off.

Anything past third is unknown at the moment but someone can convince me.

Where it's hotter & wetter
Watch how all the island nikkas from around the world, "Afro" latinos and these African cats link up like voltron :pachaha:

All of them are insecure when it comes to African Americans they all the opps too

Interesting you should say that, when I see OP make a thread about JAMAICANS and several AAs come in trying to discredit him and shift the thread to AA's contribution to world culture. Now if that's not a sign of insecurity, IDK what is. :beli:

These types of threads are destructive.

Only because of certain people's inability to acknowledge the contributions of others. I mean some of the arguments I see being made here are similar to how CACs feel the need to discredit the historical contributions of Blacks whenever we try to celebrate our history or bring attention to/highlight the great things we've accomplished.

Why y'all so happy to shyt on other members of the diaspora? :why:
Got the theColi looking real funny in the light. :leostare:

southern cuisine is flat out more influential on global scale period than jamaican cuisine. American BBQ alone is more widespread

to truly understand the scale of influence of afram fashion, I think one should start from the 1920's jazz ages
I'm not comparing them
I'm not that well traveled but the only food I've seen in the countries I've been to are fast food (McD, BK KFC etc.) and burger joints

My cousins abroad have no idea what grits or jumbayaa etc are (I didn't know until a couple years ago myself)
I don't k ow anything about the history of fashion so you'll have to school me

if you just look at sports,

you don't want to even go there...the comparison is laughable

JA beats US in track

not really

Yall don't really want to go there:mjlol: aframs are the best athletes and have been doing it for decades in many sports. Like Aframs wasn't giving out that work @ the Olympics this summer

Track

Medal standings · Track & field

USA- 32 Medals (13 Gold, 10 Silver & 9 Bronze)
Kenya- 13 Medals (6 Gold, 6 Silver & 1 Bronze)
Jamaica- 11 Medals (6 Gold, 3 Silver & 2 Bronze)
Ethiopia- 8 Medals ((1 Gold, 2 Silver & 5 Bronze)
Great Britain- 7 Medals (2 Gold, 1 Silver & 4 Bronze)
China- 6 Medals (2 Gold, 2 Silver & 2 Bronze)
Canada- 6 Medals (1 Gold, 1 Silver & 4 Bronze)
France- 6 Medals (3 Silver & 3 Bronze)

So Basketball is pretty much the only intl sport the USA dominates...

So USA team is only dominating in gymnastics and swimming

and on a similar level in soccer.

aframs don't fuk with soccer

Boxing, JA are weaker, but they've had a heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis.

the legendary track record of aframs in boxing is unmatched:pachaha:

Some of you guys still do not understand what i am saying. Show me a population of 3 million people that have been as influential like Jamaica.

I know what you're attempting to say but afram influence at 40 mil is 10x bigger because the influence is more wide spread globally across more fields and it's historically older...
