lot of what you're mentioning in this post has less to do with tech and more with corporate greed.
Isnt that the point of the thread?
:dahell:

About how corporate greed is keeping the United states behind in tech?

Yall getting all patriotic for no reason.

Wage Statistics for 2014

-38 percent of all American workers made less than $20,000 last year.

-51 percent of all American workers made less than $30,000 last year.

-62 percent of all American workers made less than $40,000 last year.

-71 percent of all American workers made less than $50,000 last year.

:dahell:

Just because YOU are doing pretty good doesn't mean the rest of the country is doing ok.

More than half of American workers earn less than 30k and have a negative net worth?
:dahell:

Sounds like paycheck to paycheck to me

I think I'm gonna trust my 2017 per capita source that actually compares countries, unlike your 2014 source that doesn't :francis:

the country being rich and the people being rich are two different things

this is the same forum, that says americans don't travel because they can't afford it

if America is so rich why does it have so many homeless? why are so many people in America homeless?

why doesn't America have clean running water in flint?

once again, a country can be rich without its people being rich or wealthy.
Once again, your are simply cherry picking facts, as opposed to looking at the whole. You can do that with any country. Come on now...:comeon:

Your source is looking at market value of different countries.

https://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/netcomp.cgi?year=2016
From the government.

This is looking at actual wages of American citizens and as you can see, majority of wage earners aren't even middle class.

We know the United states isnt broke, but the people are

The facts are that more than half of the u.s. workforce is a missed check away from poverty.

america is a huge geographical land mass, it is hard to do everything the same all over.

also, our "wealth" comes from the nearly unfettered capitalism that originates here. this is important because it means that we dont socialize our infrastructure as much as other countries

and finally, out politicians are bought by lobbyists (another consequence of the unfettered capitalism) so the government legislatively tends to take on a pro consumer-exploitation stance more often than not.

basically, if it is not profitable, it probably wont get done in america
This is literally THE answer to the OP. It would cost fortunes to canvas the entirety of the US with +25Mbps internet let alone Gbps. Then you'd have to deal with each and every municipality you have to bury lines or string up towers in(ask Google).

If you want these things in the US you better move to or near a large Metro area. I just got my gigabit line buried on Tuesday :blessed:

My source actually compares countries, on GDP, per capita. Your source does not compare countries at all. My source takes into consideration many different factors, your source does not. Why is your source better again?

Here's a list of average wages by country:

https://www.worlddata.info/average-income.php

1 Monaco 186,080 $ 15,507 $
2 Liechtenstein 116,300 $ 9,692 $
3 Switzerland 82,090 $ 6,841 $
4 Norway 81,980 $ 6,832 $
5 Luxembourg 71,590 $ 5,966 $
6 Macao 65,130 $ 5,428 $
7 Denmark 56,990 $ 4,749 $
8 United States 56,850 $ 4,738 $
9 Iceland 56,760 $ 4,730 $
10 Sweden 54,770 $ 4,564 $
11 Australia 54,230 $ 4,519 $
12 Ireland 53,970 $ 4,498 $
13 Singapore 51,880 $ 4,323 $
14 Netherlands 46,610 $ 3,884 $
15 Austria 45,880 $ 3,823 $
16 Finland 45,040 $ 3,753 $
17 Germany 43,940 $ 3,662 $
18 Canada 43,880 $ 3,657 $
19 Hong Kong 42,940 $ 3,578 $
20 Belgium 42,610 $ 3,551 $
21 United Kingdom 42,370 $ 3,531 $

23 France 38,720 $ 3,227 $
24 New Zealand 38,640 $ 3,220 $

Yup, the US is in the top 10 again. But nah, let's ignore this face and cherry pick cities like Flint, and try to generalize it to the whole of the US :hubie:

this is even more baffling

so why do americans say they can't afford to travel internationally?

why do areas in America look so poor? like even HOLLYWOOD, yes Hollywood in places looks terrible, and downtown L.A is a piece of shyt.

why are American houses so cheaply built

these facts make the plot thicken.

Reading a thread in TLR is not the proper way to evaluate a county. Plus, you're just saying shyt. I can say shyt too. Back it up with actual data, and I'll take you more seriously.

Just take your poor quality trolling and move back to England. Matter of fact, why are you even in the US, given that you feel it is so poor and technologically backward? GTFOH :camby:

This has nothing to do with the country liking me or not. This is about objective facts. The objective fact is that, of all the hundreds of countries in the world, the US ranks in the top 10 for wage average. Just because Americans are in debt, or are not good with money management, does not take away the fact that Americans make more than almost every nation. It even is higher than your beloved England.

And all your sources are only examining the US. You have presented no data about the rest of the world. Thus, you are wholly unable to make any comparisons. Like I said before, you’re just saying shyt.

lol it should rank higher than England, tri state is bigger than England, so yeah it should. but as I said this makes things even weirder, how does England have better technology in terms of the standard, than usa when usa is richer?
