Zendaya isn’t black. How are you the voice of reason? Loooooool. You allow tairs to cause confusion. Atleast vouch for an actual lightskin negro women with wooly hair. Smh.
How is Zendaya not black when her father is a black man that’s prolly darker than Wesley Snipes? Y’all need to cut this goofy shyt out. Halle Berry ain’t black either then. As well as a whole lot of other people.

Asinine comparison based of an equality principle that seems to dismiss actual chops, quality of the body of work and revenue of the projects involved.

Black Self-Sufficiency
Colorism is a reason, but it is not the main reason. Too many are making it seem like colorism is the main reason, when it is more an ancillary reason, an important part for sure, but not the main reason for success. Zendaya light-skin helps, but if she did not have the acting chops she would just be another bi-racial female who wanted to be a movie star. It is in a similar vein to beauty. Beauty makes the path easier, but only skill will allow you to actually succeed (unless you have nepotism in your favor).

People saying Zendaya is the bigger star are forgetting that she only is because of her skin color.

For example if she's a few shades darker she's not in the Spiderman films as MJ.

She's not in Dune.

And she's not in Euphoria.

Now by her own admission she goes for white girl roles so as not to take away from Black women but she doesn't want to be in "black" movies anyway so that's not saying much.

And just watching both of them unscripted Keke is naturally just funnier. Zendaya though is the same dry sarcastic plain person she plays on screen. But she gets the unjustified light skin career boost.
It's so obvious, people itt are purposely missing the point, I see this a lot whenever black women specific issues come up.

Why do they seem to pick on Zendaya with this issue so much ?

She seems to be the main one they cite as an example of colorism privilege.

Agree. Colorism is most definitely a thing but people talk about Zendaya as if she's some stiff chick who only get where she is becasue she's liteskin

Look at how many of her former peers have fallen off.

Zendaya has been smart enough to use Eurphoria as a launching pad to more interesting acting work. She's been knocking it out the park each season on that show.

Her role is not glamorous at all in fact she's a disgraceful and disgusting character which for me is great acting.

For Hollywood she brings with her a sizable fanbase.

Hence when they made Dune they were smart enough to put her front and centre publicity wise even though she's in that movie less than 8 mins. Her fans made sure they went to see it though.

nikka she was a Disney star. Who owns Marvel? DISNEY. On top of that. She could’ve EASILY got passed up for an actual white girl to play MJ. Fact of the matter is. She is a better actress. She has a better team. She carries herself better in the public. And she’s younger.

Furthermore. There’s chicks like Jurnee Smollet and Naya Rivera who was acting since younger than Keke Palmer and they never got the opportunities Keke got like her own show. Her own talk show. Etc etc. People need to cut this bullshyt out. Zendaya earned what she has.

Colorism is definitely real and exists in Hollywood but Zendaya is a way better actress and a model....that's why she is where she is right now

Keke will likely fall off as she gets older too

I have never considered any mixed person black or rather negro, even if they’re skin is darker unless I truly didn’t know. Halle Berry was never black to me ever even as a little child I knew these things, but grown men don’t understand lineage? By definition they are their own class of ppl. What do you get when a lion and tiger have an offspring?

Why include mixed ppl for brownie points, like Halle just to say “see we do have pretty women, look at Halle Berry, look at Justine Sky” lol. Reeks of low self esteem and laughing stock mindset. You think Japan calls Naoimi Osaka theirs? Or whites claim Halle Berry? You’re right alot of people aren’t. It’s different if they look black and you don’t know. Obviously they shouldn’t be mistreated but they aren’t black. Pepsi mixed with sprite is soda but it is also neither pepsi or sprite.

p.s. you can’t be “pro black” and have kids with whites or straight haired ppl. You’re literally wiping out your genes. Then those kids also influenced do the same thing and now whatever you were doesn’t exist.
