I’m not worried since I have a history with hemorrhoids and this has happened before but I’ve been putting this off for years and it’s time for me to do it.

If the blood looks fresh, it’s not from your internals (apparently).

To really see blood in poo, you have to crap in a plastic box and scrape some off into a test tube and send to them.

Whats the age that this should be done if you dont have family history of colon cancer or youre experiencing issues? 45? I've heard that insurances won't cover it if you don't meet those criteria

It is very important to be conscious about your health brehs. Make sure you get your checkups and to check up on your prostate.

Had mine checked for the first time last year. Dr came in explained how he was about to put his finger in my ass and to just relax. It was weird af but everything looked good, no swelling or abnormalities.

I think 45 is generally accurate. My doctor didn’t mention it until I was 45-46.

What did they tell you to take for the prep? Was it a jug of water and Miralax or something else?

I had the GaviLyte jug that you had to mix with water. Used bottle water and did not use the lemon pack. Make sure it is cold. Taste like saltwater but it was not really bad at all. I also get my prostate checked every year.

Remember it is best to have 100 appointments than one emergency

I've done it a few time because I have Crohn's and IBS.

The best prep is when you use the Miralax/Gatorade mix, and take some Ducolax. The worst was when I picked up a jug with like a gallon of powder from the pharmacy, and mixed it with water

I wasn't talking about the taste. The bad part for me was that I was in the bathroom all day, and a few hours after I finished the solution.

To be fair I was undiagnosed with my Crohn's disease, and IBS, so that played a big part in it I'm sure. At the time my normal weight was 218 lbs at 6'4, and I dropped down to 193 lbs.
