That’s what I thought at first, and I honestly wouldn’t really have a problem with it if that’s the motive. But why make them do this for each club they work at?

Just strikes me as them trying to make this more of hassle than it’s worth. It also seems to be an overreach to deny the right to work for past, non pertinent crimes (I can see banning those who’ve been convicted of prostitution or trafficking, human or drugs, but not misdemeanor and felonies across the board).
You’re missing the key part about liquor licenses. Those are gold. When it comes to selling liquor, you trade away certain rights to privacy. It’s the main reason why swinger clubs are BYOB. With a liquor license, a search warrant or warning isn’t needed to evade a spot. Look it up.

The hypocrisy is real.

Sex work is real work that should be legalized and taxed :hula:There should be no background checks required tho.

Cant have it both ways.
Just say what you really wanna say.
Hoes should be able to do whatever they want and anything else "isnt fair"

Thousands of felons get denied jobs everyday and nobody cares.
Its call life.
Tell them bytches to use that hoe money to get they records expunged instead of blowing it on designer clothes, weed and fast food.
The thing with expungements is you can only do it once for one charge in Florida. Idk about anywhere else. It doesn’t conceal your entire record.

Licensing would put the dancers in a public database

I wonder if Mayor Bottoms is in favor of this??

2 misdemeanors in 5 years??? for a stripper? :dahell: Sounds like they trying to dismantle the strip club culture in ATL city limits.

Funny because Im watching 2nd seaon of The Deuce, which is based in late 1970s NYC.
  • So Mayor Koch has one of his guys going up to this black cop investigating a john being killed, and he tells the cop something like: "You know the two biggest crime fighters in the city.......sheet rock and construction cranes".
Essentially, the city wanted to turn Midtown area from a prostitute haven, porno movie theater district, bordello area, disco hangout into an office commercial district and they needed to "clean it" up to make it happen........so this stripper licensing in Atlanta, which has to be unprecedented in it's scope, seems a similar policy to "clean up" Atlanta, from this element...in order to escalate gentrification in more areas.

I feel like it's just one element of Atlanta. There are way more churches in Atlanta than strip clubs, and they already have policy about where you can locate strip clubs them anyway. You know this is a ploy...because a stripper is bound to fight other strippers alone, within a 5 year period and get a misdemeanor or 2 easily. 5 misdemeanors in 5 years would be more lenient, but they going for impossible standards. These are not nuns and they are not working for the general public

Nah it’s not about females shyt if dudes wanted to do the same than they should be able to also. I don’t see what being a felon or misdemeanor have to do with it. Let them do them.

im tired of seeing people punished for mistakes made years ago.
I dont see what being a felon has to do with working majority of these bullshyt jobs out here either but that's the way it is why should hoes be exempt?
Sex work is "real work" right?
Aight then.

I know those hood strip clubs are death traps. Trappers coming in with stacks of money and getting drunk with sticks on them. I'm not from ATL but i can imagine a lot of violent crime and homicides happen around the vicinity of those clubs

They should be able to work the bullshyt jobs out there I never said they shouldn’t be able to...But that is on the individual places who are hiring usually.

I see no reason why a felony or misdemeanor should Keep you away from being a sex worker.
