I could have sworn they said they weren't making another Hulk film because they felt the character works better (on film at least) playing off other super powered characters.

I dunno breh. The last interview I read, they said that Mark Ruffalo is such a great actor it would be hard to find a balance between him and The Hulk. They ain't gonna pay an actor $50 mill (or even $200k) to not show their face.

:wtf:

That made no sense. "The Avengers 2" is a direct sequel to the first movie. "The Dark Knight" was the middle movie of a reboot trilogy that came out 20+ years after the one with Nicholson and Keaton.

If you don't mind them replacing actors ok cool but why even make sequels or spend years trying to build a cohesive universe if you're just going to constantly rotate the actors out over pay disputes? Where do we draw the line with this shyt? After the 5th Bruce Banner? After certain characters magically disappear because they can't find a suitable actor to play them?

Fred.

Exactly. Just leave him alone breh. Hawk is one of the coolest cats on here but, his mind is already made up on this subject :heh: If it was just that easy to insert a new actor into a franchise and keep it moving, the Hulk would be one of the top movie series.

Except that you see Ruffalo's face as the Hulk. Keep in mind The Hulk in the Avegners WAS Ruffalo. He did all the mo-cap and used his face for the CGI.

Both Hulk films received critical acclaim and turned a huge profit.

you can replace everybody including iron man in avengers 2 and people will still go watch it

lets keep it reality brehs

You people are out of your mind. :mindblown:

People don't fukk with The Avengers like that. They were always a B-tier comic behind X-Men. And before someone says :krs: "but Avengers broke box office records!" do you realize how many things had to sync up for that to happen? Securing Joss Whedon? 4 separate movies leading up to it? Casting people like RDJ as "Iron Man", who is half the reason people even checked for the start of the Marvel cinematic universe? Seriously, go read any review for these "Iron Man" movies and RDJ receives most of the praise. :what: at people acting like Iron Man is popular enough that any bum can play him.

They made over $1 bill off "Avengers". They know what works. Why risk fukking all that up over a few million?

:what:

You know what I mean. A CGI composite of his face ain't him. They don't want to blow money on actors then not actually use the actor because he's a CGI character most of the movie.

And the Marvel "Hulk" movie wasn't any kind of smash hit. It barely made $100 mill profit. Before someone says "that's good"....no, it's not. The wack ass '03 movie made a lot more money.

:wtf: at people acting like The Avengers are Wolverine or Batman.

Iron man is a minor character in the Marvel Universe comics. RDJ made him a major character in the movies. Any choice to replace RDJ in Ironman 4/Avengers 2 will result in a loss of at least 100 million in box office losses. He's damn near irreplaceable, and Downey's using that leverage to clean out Marvel's piggy bank.

Studios won't hesitate to throw a profitable movie in the bushes if it misses projections  You and I both know they were hoping to do $300MM-$500MM. Something in that ball park. For example, I Am Number Four made $145MM against a $50MM budget. Got thrown in the bushes because they were expecting Twilight-like success.

I don't give a fukk about RDJ as Iron man, breh. There are enough stories and interesting characters that are involved with the Avengers that they really shouldn't have to bank on RDJ's comedic timing and one liners to carry them. They have the material. They have award winning critically appraised material. They just need to put it together.

Finally a voice of reason. :blessed:

If Marvel could get by on character recognition alone RDJ wouldn't have a leg to stand on. But he got Marvel like :whoa: because they know he's Iron Man.

You don't, but the vast majority of people do. You think Marvel is seeing all those reviews, dating back to the first movie, talking about RDJ made the movies, he's Tony Stark, they can't imagine anybody else as him....you seriously think they're reading that shyt like :ld: "who cares about RDJ?".

Besides comic book readers, who actually gave a fukk about Iron Man 10 years ago? :heh:

Marvel should be grateful towards RDJ for turning a B-level superhero into a household name and a billion dollar movie franchise.
