I still say buying Lucasfilm for 4 billion was a pointless venture and they should just concentrate all resources into the Marvel franchise. George Lucas = Michael Jackson and Star Wars = his face. I don't think the public was all like "Damn, we really need some more Star Wars movies." I've got the OT on DVD with no SE edits and I'm happy with it.

I think you sleeping on just how valube the Star Wars properties are...It's not just about money it's about merchandise.


To put it in perspective keep in mind that all that money Lucas made from that deal? he gave it away because he didn't even need it...

Disney doesn't even have to make star war films to make money off that franchise. They could just release the old movie, crank out some videogames, and kick out some new toys and clothes.

Considering they're paying everyone else peanuts, from lead actors to directors, I don't think they have to cut much. They lowball the hell out of everyone but RDJ. It's pathetic. Straight jewing it up

They're not bringing in Thanos for Avengers 2. They're supposed to be saving that for the third film.

The costume in the cap movie was way better than the avengers
he suit in the avengers almost ruined the movie for me, because he looked like some shyt out of a power rangers
they should have kept the first one and minor changes to update it, but still keeping the military look to it

Dap and pos rep for that. The military look of the costume in CA was way better than the one in Avengers, and I'm not sure I've seen that mentioned very often.

And at this point it's stupid to keep trying to argue that "Nobody cared about Iron Man before the movies" when the character has appeared in plenty of places before that film. Hell I remember they had Iron Man in one of the early Tony Hawk games.

People were saying this in the IM3 thread and it's such a bad argument. If you heard of Marvel Comics prior to 2000 than you probably heard of Iron Man. In terms of popularity only the X-Men, Hulk, and Spider-Man beat him out. It's like not knowing about the Flash, Aquaman, or Green Lantern. With or without RDJ there's a reason Marvel started this whole thing off with Iron Man and it ain't because he was an unknown.

Iron Man has always been one of Marvel's most popular characters and comics. Of course 'somebody' cared, if not then there would be no movies or even a thread like this to discuss it.
