I understand that RDJ is a box office draw, but the Avengers is supposed to be an ensemble cast. that he got all that bread for Avengers compared to what they got. but to him if him holdin out for the others to make more money is true
Its just how Hollywood works.
On the first iron Man movie RDJ made less money than Terrence Howard, because Howard was just coming off an Academy Award nomination and critical acclaim from Hustle & Flow and Crash.
Iron Man blows up, RDJ is now THE MAN and Marvel tries to stiff Terrence Howard for the sequel, offering him something like $200k. He told them fukk off and they threw him in the bushes.
The thing is that RDJ IS toney stark. An Iron Man movie without RDJ is like doing a Die Hard without Bruce Willis or a Men In Black without Will Smith. He embodies the role. You don't have $100 million dollar opening weekends on an Iron Man movie without Robert Downey Junior, its just that simple, he is the draw. When you have the draw you have the leverage, its the same as Johnny Depp making a gazillion dollars for every Pirates Of The Caribbean while Orlando Bloom and that other chick made chump change.
Now Chris Hemsworth I don't understand. He's already proven that he's a bankable actor away from Thor so I don't know why they wouldn't want to pay him what he's owed to do Avengers 2 & 3. I also don't understand why marvel is being so tight with the cash in the first place. Number 1, Avengers was a runaway success and 2, their owned by Mickey Mouse now. Disney should be able to accommodate the main actor's salaries to keep their now most bankable franchise going smoothly. It defies all logic that they'd play hardball with the actors now of ALL times while all the movies are hot.
Cause no one gives a shyt about thor

doing what? red dawn/cabin in the woods? snowwhite and the huntsman was a bella production that netted the twilight fans with its fairytale crap. When hes been the lead (outside thor) his movies havent pushed units. So i dont know where you are getting your intelNow Chris Hemsworth I don't understand. His mask in the comics with those little wings are A LOT worse than in the movies. They managed to make his entire costume respectable opposed to the comics.
Pretty much man. All about cutting costs switching directors for sequels and shyt. Getting tv and music video directors and shyt because they can save a buck. Lowballing their actors. That's the difference between how DC seems to be putting it together. I don't see any of these solo phase 2 movies being great, honestly, because Marvel knows they don't have to be to make a massive profit. And that's disappointing. Someone like a Nolan would do wonders with something like Captain America. But we don't get that. We get these processed force fed safe blockbusters.
Meh.
IM3 isnt trash but i heard it's (dont count it since i wont see it in theaters)
the hulk was trash, the last 3 xmen movies were meh, ghost rider? fantastic fours? spiderman 3 and amazing spider man. 3 was so bad that they rebooted, only to make a slightly better film that did great in the box office just b/c it was a spidey movie. i'm off marvel stannery, i'd rather go back and watch straight episodes of the cartoons.
I can somewhat agree with what you're saying. Cap never had the greatest looking costume to begin with, but I don't think the movies did him any justice. It just has a cheap Halloween type look.
Personally I think his first movie costume may have been better (overall).
P.S.
I hope they keep Scarlett

And RDJ had a lot to do with the success of Iron Man. It really came out of no where. No one really cared until the positive reviews starting pouring in and many of the reviewers praised RDJ.
And Sherlock Holmes was a huge success. What are you smoking on?
Avengers have been more popular than the X-Men for quite some time now bruh. In the 90's the X-Men were obviously more popular but post 2000 nah
and u guys need to understand people go to see Iron man more because of tony stark and less bcuz of RDJ
Iron Man 2 didn't get great reviews but it did great
If Tony Stark was such a fascinating, popular character there should've been a movie made before this trilogy, or at least a popular animated series.
