To be fair, Captain America has the dumbest looking mask (I'm talking live action not comics) of any comic book hero to date. I'm actually glad they found a way to get rid of it. It wouldn't be an issue if the mask just looked better. Thor's helmet doesn't translate all that well either.

Marvel Studios was in the business of shopping their properties out to other (bigger and more cash solvent) studios like Fox and Sony first which is what they did with Blade, X-Men, Punisher, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider and Daredevil.
Marvel Studios didn't start producing movies in-house on their own until Iron Man.

Nobody gives a fukk about a random suit of armor flying around on screen. Go read the reviews. Everyone praises RDJ for all 3 movies, to the point of saying it's impossible to imagine anyone else playing the role. If what you're saying is true Marvel wouldn't be spending weeks negotiating with RDJ, they would've kicked him to the curb like Terrence Howard and Edward Norton.
And Iron Man is not a major character. Cut the bullshyt out. Wolverine, Batman, Spiderman, Superman, those are major characters. Iron Man and The Avengers in general have always been b-list.

Pretty much man. All about cutting costs switching directors for sequels and shyt. Getting tv and music video directors and shyt because they can save a buck. Lowballing their actors. That's the difference between how DC seems to be putting it together. I don't see any of these solo phase 2 movies being great, honestly, because Marvel knows they don't have to be to make a massive profit. And that's disappointing. Someone like a Nolan would do wonders with something like Captain America. But we don't get that. We get these processed force fed safe blockbusters.

The whole RDJ thing is really overhyped. I don't care what the reviews say. They also said Iron Man 2 and 3 were good movies. Get a snarky, quick tongued white man, and you've got a Tony Stark. Not a whole lot of depth there. And btw, his "panic attacks" in IM3...anyone who has ever had a panic attack was laughing at that shyt. fukking horrible acting job.

He's not fighting for his squad, dude has already signed on to do Avengers 2 and 3.....
then decides to not to Iron Man 4 knowing damn well it will probably be rebooted with a new actor by then anyway. Downey gives zero fuks about his coworkers, if he really cared about their salaries he would have thrown the Avengers sequels in the bushes until their salaries was raised.

He has a point. Though I wouldn't truly call the Avengers B list. But they aren't on the level of X-men. Well, now they are because of the success of the first Avengers flick.
And RDJ had a lot to do with the success of Iron Man. It really came out of no where. No one really cared until the positive reviews starting pouring in and many of the reviewers praised RDJ.
And Sherlock Holmes was a huge success. What are you smoking on?
