Texas is in at least the same breath of storied programs as Nebraska if you're naming them.

95 Nebraska might be the best team ever.
And in the Tom Osbourne era they were 255-49 with 12 bowl wins (to be fair, Osbourne lost 13 bowls, too)
...actually I guess if you were to just compare the entire history of Nebraska to that of Texas...they are close.

Boy stop..... You aint got sense enough to differentiate propaganda and status........ A blue blood program could've got the coach they wanted after firing Mac Brown.... .but Texas couldn't..... Charlie was like the fifth option.... and Texas' last option.... a so called blue blood program got turned down by the top 3 hottest coaches in the game....

Why should Bedford been fired after last season? The defense was Really Good in 2014. We all know the issues in 2015 were because of playing freshmen, lack of upperclassmen talent, & injuries all in the Front 7. This season the run defense & pass-rushing has improved to satisfactory/solid levels, but the HUGE problem is the Secondary is playing HOT GARBAGE.If Texas could just get the secondary to just play competent the rest of this season, UT could win 8-10 games this season.

I guess I never really much cared for Bedford and I always thought were we going to get the same defense that we saw with him at Oklahoma State back in the day. The 2014 defense was pretty good but 2015 was extremely bad even with the youth at the d-line after losing Brown amongst others. The 2016 looks like the defenses that I saw when he was at Oklahoma State.
