Did a thread on this last year

https://www.thecoli.com/threads/do-yall-wash-your-meat-dame-before-cooking-it-poll-added.656368/

its fukking retarded to wash meat,

Water isn't inhterently anti bacterial brehs

That’s why you don’t use just water.

Look at the vids I posted, especially the 1st one.

I don’t use running water over chicken because that definitely spreads bacteria and you use lemons and/or limes plus vinegar to disinfect the chicken.

I also use salt and onions in the chicken bath.

Let me get this straight, y'all wash the chicken to disinfect the outside of it then cook it to temp so that the bacteria has been killed on the inside...if high temp kills the bacteria on the inside why wouldn't it do the same to the outside? I understand if you were raised to believe you must wash your chicken before cooking because well that was what you were told growing up, but it’s true that it's unnecessary due to the fact that the same heat that disinfects the inside of your chicken also disinfects the outside of your chicken.

And all of that is far less effective than just simply heating up the meat.

if you're intent with all of that is to kill bacteria, youre wasting your time and youre doing a better job of marinating the meat than anything.

There is no seasoning or acid on Earth that kills more bacteria than sheer heat.

Again, if you compare your sink to a garbage can then:hubie:

If you don’t wash your dishes AND your sink regularly then:hubie:

If you wash your meat in the metal part of the sink then:hubie:

Heat does not kill all bacteria, studies show it kills up to 98% of living bacteria on raw meat.

You can google it, I’m too tired to do it right now.

I’d rather rely on vinegar, citric acid, plus heat rather than heat alone.

basically.
never understood why ppl do that. i dont wash chicken and its never affected me

and that's just what the CDC is saying the water you're using to 'clean' the meat is just spreading germs and bacteria.

They way i was raised on it you buy meat

cut lemons and clean it with the lemons

Remove claws or any thing undesirable then boil in vinegar and water

Season and toss in fridge
