I don't listen to music much in general anymore but when I do its some oldschool soul like Stevie Wonder or Marvin gaye....either that or classical music
I might bump a hiphop classic here and there but as far as new music goes I don't really fuk wit hiphop like that anymore.... outside of Nas's Life is Good I haven't really listened to any new albums this year and don't really have any desire to.
I doubt that would change unless another young Pun, Nas or Pac type rapper were to come up out of nowhere and make everyone take notice. 99% of these rappers just sound the same to me.
I think hiphop's heyday has came and gone and its just time to accept that, every genre has those periods where everything made during that time is golden, Jazz had it, Soul Music and Rock had theirs...and Hiphop had it's fertile period also.....right now we're in the aftermath reminiscing on what it "used" to be like..... Its mainly all about money now tho...not music. Hiphop isn't dead...it just evolved into garbage like every genre before it has done. Maybe that's the natural progression of all genres?
