I'm talking about artists that came out in the last 5 years or so, my demonic friend. I was still listening actively up to the mid-2000s or so, which is when my enthusiasm really started to wane.

So what, you went back to listening to house music, techno and electronica? :skip:

What I find myself doing these days is catching up on dope songs and artists I ignored growing up because I was so closed minded musically. I only listened to rap and nothing else....one thing I'll say about this newer generation, their tastes are a lot more varied than the hardcore hip hops heads from the previous era.

I listen to a wide variety of music, of both Black and non-Black origin. I got Mingus coming out of the speakers right now. You, on the other hand, play Rihanna and Pitbull to mentally prepare for meeting your man crushes at the dojo every week.

They see me trolling, they hating.....
I don't listen to music much in general anymore but when I do its some oldschool soul like Stevie Wonder or Marvin gaye....either that or classical music

I might bump a hiphop classic here and there but as far as new music goes I don't really fuk wit hiphop like that anymore.... outside of Nas's Life is Good I haven't really listened to any new albums this year and don't really have any desire to.

I doubt that would change unless another young Pun, Nas or Pac type rapper were to come up out of nowhere and make everyone take notice. 99% of these rappers just sound the same to me.

I think hiphop's heyday has came and gone and its just time to accept that, every genre has those periods where everything made during that time is golden, Jazz had it, Soul Music and Rock had theirs...and Hiphop had it's fertile period also.....right now we're in the aftermath reminiscing on what it "used" to be like..... Its mainly all about money now tho...not music. Hiphop isn't dead...it just evolved into garbage like every genre before it has done. Maybe that's the natural progression of all genres?

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
i only listen to hip hop artists. by artist i mean dudes who are doing more than writing a 16. i grew up on wu tang so i hold many to high standards. jay electronica i had hope for until i realize he was a literal false prophet. kanye had me happy for awhile but it seems MBDTF got dude on his negative/money bullshyt like everyone else. if someone puts their heart into their music i usually like it. i dont know the last mainstream hip hop i liked. i will say that how the labels abuse hip hop culture got me salty at all these new guys with their cosigns telling me their on point with legends. shyts a joke compared to the hip hop i grew up off of

Joke critic? Yea,:jawalrus: you effected.

Yeah, I'm "affected" by how pathetic a poster you've become. It's sad to watch, like a dying beast begging to be put out of its misery. It would be ok if you just posted opinions and didn't continue clogging up the board with trolling aliases like you do your toilet at home with your failing digestion. Your posting is the online equivalent of an old man your age struggling to fit into skinny jeans and listening to Drake. Your posts smell like must and mothballs.

OP is like a 45 year old hermit. Yeah you're too old for a matter of fact. If I encountered you in public I would probably call you sir.

With the exception of the occasional 90's jam, I don't listen to much rap. I'm mostly into that late 70s early 80s funk/grooving.

I find myself listening to less and less, basically only check for certain artists and avoid the radio like the plague.
Word...every once and a while I've have a listen to some new shyt but other than that for the most part I'm very selective.
