I find myself listening more to top 40 nowadays....

Killing someone on your 5th album becomes old real quick.

No i listen to adult hiphop.

I'm a bit more into the 'young adult' hip hop right now.

Sometimes I go into 'adult' hip hop. Sometimes the 'pre teen' hip hop. I even sometimes hear some 'baby' hip hop.

'pre teen' hip hop isn't all that bad except it's a bit weird when you're with your bras singing "Whip My Hair" and you're dead serious :merchant:

I think production has reach a very high level of quality, but lyrics have lessened in quality. However, I don't think the masses really cared about lyrics in the first place, so it's probably a natural progression of the music.

I care more about producers like Lex Luger, D-rich, shawty redd than I do about artists.

I got love for Lex Luger cause he's from the 757 VA like me, but he needs to stop making the same fukking beat over and over again.

i feel that hip hop has always been immature junk food type of music, like pop or rock. the difference is that as people age they take everything way too seriously and music at its core is not supposed to be about being serious

I clearly stated that sometimes that pre teen hip hop sometimes isn't all that bad.

I fukks with it :manny:

But do you really drop these artists in real life and not amongst white hip hop nerds online?

Random Guy on Street: :dwillhuh:

If someone actually dropped Moka Only, Pigeon John, Five Deez in conversation I'd have a tough time taking them serious on music :pachaha:

why fix something that isnt broken?

From working with artists myself, I can tell you that it ain't Lex Luger who wants to make the same beat all the time. It's the rap artists that WANT the same beat every time.

He probably sends out 100's of beats to artist and they all pick a beats that are associated with "his" sound. Or, the artists pressure him to make a certain "sound".

That's just how it is.

And yet you want me to take you, presumably a young man, serious with Willow Smith and Whip My Hair?

If asked what i'm listening to I'll say who i'm listening to...no shame.

You clearly feel the same way.

LOL@ the record store... :beli:

I guess if I was talking to you anythign less than "The New Carly Ray Jensen" and i'm not valid though eh?
