Sometimes I just buy games because steam is faster than pirating and worrying about all the shyt that comes with it(dead links, installation, bugs, updates, etc)

Then shyts become 100 bucks a pop im not buying a motherfukkin thing

Gabe Newell famously said that piracy is a service issue, not a pricing issue. but I guess at some price that would no longer be true. the perceived value is always a factor

True, but if anything it’s gone the other way.

Games are much larger and take much longer to make now.

I’m positive Capcom spent more time and money on SF6 than they did 2 even after inflation is considered. Profit margin would be much less now than it was then.
Capcom right now is doing better than they ever have.

I guess breaking records year after year isn't good enough they want even more.

Studios take 4-6 years to create a game consisting of 100’s of developers and charge just 60-70 dollars for entertainment that you get at the very least 20 hours out of. Why is that considered “ripping off consumers”?

Thats like a typical dinner for two without drinks. Gamers aren’t marks, they are entitled

Every game is a race to be bigger these days.

It’s easy to say games don’t need to be so big but when things like BG3 are reported as the new standard for AAA games due to its scale, you don’t stand a chance selling your game for $70 if it’s not a huge game.
