Cam just said what many of us here said a few days ago. ESPN and FS1 trot out flunkies 24/7 to make the same dumb hot takes Cam makes. But because Cam is not under a corporate purview he is not given the same respect they get, and instead is just fodder for them to generate more #content because at the end of the day that's all this shyt is right. Worthless #content to be chewed up and spit out 24/7, with nobody learning anything and nobody making real arguments. Everything is designed for engagement and outrage, creating perpetual psychosis among people who can barely sit down for a moment without being baited into anger or annoyance.

Michale Jordan is Vince Carter without Scottie and Phil :troll:

Nah. It isn't that he isn't under a corporate umbrella that this take is shat on.
It's that he played the position, and people expect his takes on these things to specifically NOT be 'dumb hot takes'. They expect the nuance of someone who played the game at a high level to approach it as that. But he sounds like a rando on a call-in show for how logical this take was.

It was a stupid fukking take. And he's doubling down and playing the victim on some 'I'm just a small platform'. No. You're a former NFL QB who was MVP. Speaking on QB play lends him an air of credibility that his simplistic take does not deserve. Skip can say left-field bullshyt and people will laugh and think nothing of it because he's a TV personality. But if Peyton and Eli say some shyt about a QB, people will listen and expect them to know WTF they're talking about.

Cam saying this makes it seem like he doesn't know WTF he's talking about.

Peyton fukking Manning is a game manager?
Tom fukking Brady is a game manager?
Drew fukking Brees is a game manager?! DREW? Mister 5000 yards a season... game manager.

Idiocy.

Those QBs Cam listed ain't going to the playoffs with Brenton Bersin and Philly Brown at WR and with Byron Bell, Cameron Erving, and Fernando Velasco at O-line.
We doing this thing where we act like Cam didn’t have an elite defense and Greg Olsen to throw to at tight end? As well as one of the best running games in football (which obviously he played a part in)? :francis:

Love cam but the idea that those Carolina teams were just garbage across the board is simply not true

The mutha****in BX
:dahell:

Despite a couple picks, He threw for 365 yards against Cincy in that loss, had a rating of 94

He played poorly against the Browns but drove them down the field for a chip shot field goal in the 4th (that the kicker missed)

More Coli :duck: being posted lmao...
He'll compiled a lot of those numbers when they were down late

He's never been asked to win games. Just don't lose it

You bring up the Bengals game, but conveniently ignore the Vikings game when he had to actually try to win the game :unimpressed:

Lemme ask you this:

Do you think those QBs (Dak/Purdy/etc.) would make it to the playoffs (I'm not even gonna say win MVP and go to the Super Bowl) with those teams?

He trying to play the victim, but people are bothered because Cam should know better than to do this bullshyt. Especially because, for the latter half of his career, he couldn't even be reliably counted on to game manage. He was never accurate enough for that. Didn't make the right reads even at the best of times. When his athleticism left him, his career collapsed.

Sour grapes like a motherfukker.
nikka had a bum shoulder from injury. What you talking about?

Since folk want to do this, fine.
Let's talk about it. I got time today cuz

Cam had a 10 year career in the NFL. He only played the equivalent of 8 full seasons, however.
In those 10 seasons:

He had 3 seasons with a completion % over 60%.
He had 2 seasons where he threw more INTs than TDs.
His most efficient seasons ever were 2018 and 2020. 2019 was a wash so, some what say he started to put it together in being an efficient passer who wouldn't sail the ball or throw the game away. Except 2020 was one of those years he threw more INTs than TDs.

Cam calling people game managers and backtracking that it isn't an insult makes sense. Because he was incapable of being a game manager. He was a career high-50% completion guy. That's dogshyt. The fact that they saw success is a testament to the rest of the team, because if you put that passer on any of these teams with all these 'great weapons'... it wouldn't matter. He couldn't get them the fukking ball.

In his last year, back in Carolina, he played 8 games, had under 700 yards, went 69/126 and threw 5 INTS to 4 TDs. QB not averaging 100 yards a game? Them is Garoppolo-in-the-playoffs numbers :picard:

Marcus fukking Mariota has a higher career completion % and a better TD/INT differential.
