Calorie Counting To Lose Weight

Is a diet comprised of only lean meats and vegetables healthy? I don’t eat any bread, starches, or sugar... lean meats, vegetables, and water...

I eat once a day around 2-4 PM and a typical meal for me might be salmon or chicken breasts and leafy vegetables.

I’m about 15-18% BF and I want to get around 9-10% before I start putting on lean mass. Is my diet the right way to go about it?

It depends. The best diet is the one you can stick too. If you like eating carbs and you feel better eating them then there's really no reason not to. Carbs are our best energy source. If you can lose weight eating carbs why wouldn't you? Like we've been telling cats in this thread, calories is really the only thing that matters. Eating lean meat and veggies is beneficial only because it's hard as fukkl to over eat with you are eating nothing but chicken breasts and brocolli.

I don’t know what it is with me but carbs put me to sleep instead of give me energy unlike what nutritionists say...

I hear you though... perhaps a few carbs every now and then to meet my daily caloric goal wouldn’t hurt...

whatever works for you breh. I saw a instantaneous energy increase in my daily life and especially my workouts when I switched from low carb to a flexible dieting lifestyle.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
I just got up on this "Myfitnness pal" app and started counting the calories I consume. It's crazy how many calories you can take in without even knowing brehs. Just by cutting out juice and sports drinks you can eliminate like 400 calories a day.

When you count the calories before you consume something you'll think twice about it if you have a daily calorie limit in order for you to lose or maintain weight.


I know this is old to y'all but this app works.

I used it to gain weight last year.

It was great and easy. Very useful. Only had to do it for about 6 weeks

I pretty much been doing intermittent fasting and a Keto low carb diet.

This low carb shyt got me cranky af though and my workouts be straight ass cheeks.

Plus I get constipated but I hear these are kinda normal stages.

Did you just start recently.

One thing I suggest for bruhs that have a hard time losing weight is TO GET YOUR THYROID CHECKED.

I went from 240 to 155 over the course of 2 years. It was a slow painful progress and I never understood why. I was a avid calorie counter and needed to eat like 1600 cals to lose weight consistently. I never knew why until I got my thyroid checked this year and it turns out I have hashimotos disease. The thyroid pills has my appetite up and increased my maintenance calories by a lot. I can finally eat like a grown man without putting on weight like a fukking pregnant lady. Get your blood checked bruhs. You may have some genetic shyt going on that could be slowing your progress.

If you've been on this and still cranky, try adding in more fats IF your fats and carbs are low since both are energy sources. You may want to see where you are in that regards. Some people are usually way high in protein and way too low in fats in their Keto diets. Not saying thats you but it happens. Even on a non traditional Keto like the Dave Palumbo diet, you'd need to take in .5 grams of fat per lb of body weight. Most traditional keto diets are 70%+ of cals based on fats.

Take 1tbl spoon of psyllium husk 1-2x a day, I take sugar free or plain Metamucil at night after all my meals and my mornings are light. Water is a must to get the husk moving since it absorbs it.

Just lost 30 lbs doing this. I was 270 and rehabbing an injured knee so i couldn’t even do that much physical excercise for the first 20 or so lbs lost. My calorie intake to lose weight was 2490.

It's a great app for sure. Used it daily the first two years I got serious about working out and getting cut. After a while you'll be able to eyeball everything.

And everyone react differently to certain diets. I was on a keto diet (was taking in about 20g net carbs) when cutting and it helped but I think it threw my metabolism off for several months. Don't ruin your body in the long run for short gains.

Breh! I wish everybody knew this shyt right here. It would not be such obesity out here if people knew that one thing but instead they be eating hella chips and hella french fries and wonder why they can't lose weight.

Simple protein like chicken that's not fried and broccoli could have you full for a long time until your next meal.

There is so much obesity because unhealthy foods taste better than healthy foods

I got up to 180lbs recently..I’m 6 feet I’m pretty much skinny fat.

I’d like to get down to 160-170. Always had a high metabolism but packed on weight the past 2 years.

What I gotta do to lose fat..I know I can’t spot reduce
